  1. Received in two days, plugged in and worked perfectly, but for my hand size (med-large), this mouse was very uncomfortable. It is a little flatter than I am, without a hump in the middle used to provide support, and I found my surrender gravitating towards the back of the mouse. I had to “claw” grip this mouse with the thumb and little finger access to pages with the mouse and it soon became very uncomfortable.

I would suggest you test this mouse at a retail shop to check for comfort.

  2. This mouse is the best mouse I have heard and I like it better than any Logitech mouse. There I said it.
Matches for the top with it and compliments my Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Keyboard. While this mouse is not for little hands, my hand feels is of normal size and the mouse is good. The mouse comes with the IntelliPoint software, where you can really gear up the mouse as you like. The X8 Mouse is a wireless gaming mouse with a USB drive disk with one end plugged into a USB slot and then there is a cord that rolls out from the hard drive you to the bottom of the mouse, if you want to recharge or use it as a want with a mouse cable. It is the best of both worlds. No more exchanging or replacing the batteries as the mouse from this method can recharge while you use it. If the AA with battery recharged with the mouse pulsates its red color, so you know, it’s time to recharge. There’s even an on / off switch to conserve batteries.
I have this round disk to run the wire or load the mouse out of sight after the opening I’ve set contains at my desk . I have even tested the mouse on different surfaces form a desk, a rug, a bed and the mouse works very well without a beat. There are several feet for the mouse, but I can not say that it takes a lot of difference in the type of mouse or feels, but as I said the motion is in order, without feet on the ground. On the front of the X8 you have three LCDs to change your DPI on the fly. This feature works very well and there is a noticeable difference so it fits what your needs will be, whether you use it for games or just use it as the mouse of choice all the time. It has up to 4000 DPI. The mouse itself has many buttons that are placed well. You can see some of them fit your needs.
Now I must say that I stayed away from this Microsoft Mouse in the past because of the smooth leaves of the wheel. I can not stand it. He wants you to feel no contol what you browse. So this mouse clicks on the scroll wheel is so I do this for other Microsoft mice no longer a problem with the X8. The scroll wheel is also adjustable there with his speed, which is a must for me.
It can thus also other features that I do not even bother with as of yet. Yes, this is a Microsoft product, but forgot. The X8 mouse can not only looks good but is comfortable and does have evey function properly with a mouse. I hope the rugged feel of the mouse holds over time, but I’m certainly not pleased with the Sidewinder X6 keyboard, but just as happy with the Sidewinder X8 mouse. At this point I give the SideWinder X8 Mouse, the highest rating.

  3. I have the Microsoft Sidewinder X8 for about a week and had now so far I’ve liked it. I previously used a Logitech MX518, and although it is not caught by a bad mouse, it wears off, and felt that it is time for a new one was obtained. My top priorities for a new mouse DPI were decent, suitable for large hands well and relatively new with up to date technology. Browsing through various reviews and forums I closed out the Microsoft SideWinder Mouse (his predecessor). But only if I wanted to buy the mouse, I heard from Microsoft came up with an updated version next month. So I waited.

The main differences between the Sidewinder X8 Sidewinder and the increased DPI (2000-4000), wireless, and the lack of adjustable weights. I was very surprised to see, not adjustable weights, but it’s not something I’m worried. Some of the players could on a wireless gaming mice by the delay, but Microsoft has stated that they have extensive testing and found no difference in latency between wired mice and the Sidewinder X8 question.

; The software installation was a breeze. Once this was completed, I put in the USB and when I use the Sidewinder X8 I noticed a marked improvement over the MX518 tracking – it is much more precise and that was launched at 2000 DPI. The vertical side buttons are so good, if not slightly better than the horizontal ones. I have rarely used on the MX518, but on the Sidewinder X8 I use it more often. But it may take awhile getting used to them. The rest of the buttons work great and do not have a problem with setting up a macro on the macro button. The LCD screen shows the battery indicator and DPI a nice touch.

The radio receiver is like a puck and the charger wire is shaped roughly what wound it to expand easily. allows the magnetic end of the charger wire is quite simple click of the mouse. If your battery is dead (which did not happen for a while) you can still use the mouse when it attaches. Within the puck two different mouse feet pads also contains default to those on the mouse. I have tried them all and there is a small difference between them, but opted to leave the default ones. However, I noticed that they wet easily attract and accumulate scratches. I fear that this may disrupt the smooth motion, even though I have not noticed so far.

A problem that has annoyed me a bit is the handle of the mouse. My hands are on the large side and felt that the mouse was ergonomically accommodate for them. But when I click my hand on the mouse, your index finger on the left mouse button, the middle finger on the right side, my ring finger is not covered properly in its groove. This leads to my ring finger to the tip of the tongue, do not hit a good feeling. The groove is very linear and the only way for my ring finger fit well into the groove in my hand is moving back a little. But that weaken my grip. The whole problem is very likely composition by my hand as I have heard no complaints in relation to this matter. On the contrary, when clicking with the mouse with the index finger on the left, then middle finger on the scroll wheel and the ring finger on the right side, it fits perfectly! My Pinky is perfectly located in the groove. But it is worth the change?

    Conclusions:

    Pros:
    – Incredible tracking with 4000 DPI
    – Wireless with great battery life
    – Customizable buttons

    Cons:
    – not the best mouse pad feet
    – Not for small hands
    – Questionable handle

*** UPDATE *** It seems that this mouse is not the greatest. The Blue Track to track everything and on a hard smooth surface like a table they have to jump a few times. Perhaps it can be fixed with a firmware upgrade?

  4. I have this mouse with the hope of more control with my right hand. Other buttons that I could program. It’s not a bad mouse, but could redesign something. I actually prefer my original wireless mouse. Logitec Logitech Cordless Mouse-Blue Media Play. It has two easy-to-Target, and two programmable thumb buttons not as easy to dedicated volume control target. It also has next song / song last control on the right.
The Sidewinder has two easy-to-Target, programmable thumb buttons and a difficult target to dedicated button. Most of the buttons on this mouse is already set. You Left, right, and then in the middle, and scroll wheel (which is also the middle button), the tilt left / right and two north-south thumb buttons. You can also press a hard-to-thumb (not sure what it does not already taken, but it is not programmable), and three sensitivity adjustment buttons on the palm along with a second power button. So, you will receive a total of five programmable buttons (three fingers, two thumbs). I was hoping for more.
The mouse itself is a bit bulky. I like to keep the mouse with my fingers do, and, broad movements with my arm, and his movements by resting my palm on the table and moved around my finger. So I like a little game between the mouse and the Boney part of my palm. This has none. It is for people who hold the mouse in her palm as made.
It is also a bit heavy, and has 3 feet, turn up for your style shifting.
    It is again rechargeable.
The sensitivity is a bit strange as well. The left / right sensitivity is a bit less than the North / South. I find that I have to do a broader movement, look to the left and right, but only a slight upward movement, have me on the ceiling. This will take some getting used to.
When I developed this mouse-re, I would make it easier and less bulky, move the thumb-button back about an inch and add one or two more thumb buttons in either a plus education, or two better than one. I would also push the mouse theory, adding another button on either the left-click or RightClick part of the mouse, which was higher up (above the second knuckle), so that you could make two clicks with a finger .
It’s not a bad mouse, but could use some reworking.

  5. I had to get rid of it.

    Good
    Best Cordless System conceivable.
    No Lag at all.
    Button placement 10 / 10
button and wheel “click feel” 10/10.
    Huge mouse!

    Bad Clicker is very slippery.
    tracking is frightened / nervous.
rear bottom of the mouse curves upward. This leads to Wheelies do it if you put much weight on the back of the mouse. This is very easy for the high hump on the back of the unit.
    Huge mouse
