I have actually bought this for use with my Playstation 2 and was not disappointed. The difference between the output on the standard cable and the cable on a 61 “HDTV is enormous!” God of War looked blurry before, but now it runs in widescreen mode progressive (480p), the difference is like night and day. “Gran Turismo 4 outputs to 1080i and is amazing!
If you HDTV and a Playstation 2 to get this cable, do not worry that the product does not mention, PlayStation 2, the box.

The PlayStation 3 Component AV cable is actually for two types of customers: those with a PS3, which have a first-generation HDTV and those who have a Playstation 2 with an HDTV.
you have a PS3, then your best bet is HDMI. It’s all digital, and offers the best clarity. In addition, there is only one cable for video and audio, contrary to 5 separate connections. It would make no sense, these cables for the PS3 and HDTV to buy if you can make a first-generation HDTV who do not have an HDMI or DVI input (if you have a DVI input, you buy a cable or adapter , HDMI enables DVI ports).
If you are a Playstation 2, this cable for large 480P (progressive scan output use) or for use with Gran Turismo in 1080i mode . Component is also noticeably clearer than S-Video or Composite output. If you do not have an HDTV if the difference is with the component as compared to S-video or composite far less conspicuous and may not be worth it.
Now on the Sony component cable itself
Pros:
– excellent quality
– the cable is very flexible and easy routes. It is not in a twisted or coiled shape as some other cable stay
– the component jacks just go to the TV. They are very big and go in easily. I used Monster-branded component cables for the PS2/PS3, and they require too much strength to go and out of the bushes. It felt like putting was too much unnecessary stress on the TV jacks.
– MultiAV the connection is very close to the PS2/PS3
– cable, rubber / plastic is high quality and feels not sticky or smelly as some other cable.
Cons:
– is the packaging over the top. Sony uses a thick, heavy clear plastic, like the field. It is difficult to cut open, and an environment disaster. This article is a perfect candidate for Amazon Frustration free packaging.
PS If you have trouble with this output cable, make sure the PS2 setup, that the component is set out instead CYPbPr RGB. He’s Catch-22 that you can not see the screen to the component cable set already plugged However, all PS2s come with the basic composite AV cable, so you should these on the part of first sentence the plugging in the Component AV cable.

I was not aware that I had on my PS2 on my PS3, when I ordered this work.
I was so with the quality that I considered it and am currently with it (as the command on the PS2 one that I had already rejected impressed).
Well done – done the job. But if your TV supports HDMI, use it’s not the HDMI. . .

I was quite ignorant of the difference between a component cable can make. When we bought a much larger HDTV, the PS2 games looked really horrible to them. All washed out and grainy. Of course, some people in the house felt the answer was a PS3, but I could not bring myself to 600 fall on him so at this time. . . for $ 20 I ordered this cable. I was amazed at how much clearer and sharper the picture is shocked at the games. It is not HD, but its not too shabby. For a saving of 580 I can live for a good long time and then the tearful tech obsessed men of the household. It was worth the money and I recommend it.

I was worried that I lose some picture quality with component cables instead of HDMI. That was not the case. . The picture looks great! And the BlueRay picture is fantastic. Was quite surprised how well the PS3 upscaled standard DVD to HD’s.
