This is the updated version of the Razer DeathAdder. 3500 dpi instead of 1800 DPI. This is the main difference, though I think the newer version has a gold plated USB connector, and of course different drivers for each model. Either way, both models are identical in physical form.
The arch of the mouse is by far the most comfortable I’ve ever used, that it actually follows the curve of the hand, as one would instinctively mouse to grip. It is also a right-handed mouse, left handed sorry that creates comfort and control of the mouse. I can not say I know what the mouse is made of grip, but it is completely non-slip and oil resistant / absorbent. The sides of the mouse are a hard plastic and between the feet of Teflon and the light weight of the mouse, there is almost no resistance to the movement.
I’ve upgraded from a Logitech Wireless Revolution mouse and wireless mice, while the comfortable, can not compete with the accuracy and precision that has a wired mouse. My old wireless mouse would lag and skip across the screen, and often when you close a program, it would accidentally close the window behind it as well, which I never quite figured out why it did (I suspect radio interference?). With the DeathAdder, I do not even have this problem and every click I do is right where I expected it.
I played with a Logitech MX518, and G9 and the Razer Salmosa, all the mice felt as solid and accurate, but they lacked the feeling of the DeathAdder has. The technical data are important, but it does not matter how accurately a mouse is when it is still not comfortable to use. In short, I’m pretty happy I went this way. However, the Razer Salmosa was a close second, but it seemed like a simple version of the original DeathAdder 3G.
For games I do not have a whole series of opportunities to test it yet. I’ve played a bit of Left for Dead with him and after several trips to and optimization of the settings (independent X and Y sensitivity, Button assignemnt be acceleration, etc.) is used, it is so simple, entire hordes of zombies in the head shoot. I have also played a bit of fallout, while the mouse is definitely smoother, I can not say it has all influenced so much gameplay. I have tried this mouse on my desktop and laptop (Vista or 7) and both operating systems seem the Razer software is running perfectly fine. Windows immediately recognized the mouse and it works with the Windows drivers in order, but I recommend downloading the latest Razer drivers for maximum power. The amount of the adjustment, this mouse provides otherwise wasted.
Other thoughts:
The blue lights on the wheel and the glowing DeathAdder logo are pretty cool. I always see them annoying after a while, but they are simple enough to disable in the settings.
The DPI and polling rates can be reduced by the 3500DPI and 1000ms, if desired, but I only have a worsening of the accuracy and performance, so I’m not sure why you would.
My only real complaint is the “On-The-Fly” sensitivity switch to the bottom of the mouse. I’m not sure how “on the fly, that when I play a game that must be the only time I use this feature like me is. Ultimately, it is not so big deal, but it is a kind of false advertising in my opinion after.
I can not stress enough how perfect shape of this mouse is not to mention that looks pretty cool at the same time. Something about it just feels “right.” Admittedly, it took me a few days to get used to it, but now I do not think I could go back. If you already have a Logitech G9 (or something like that) I can not say I’d say you’re going now to replace but if you are looking for an upgrade, this is the way to go.

Indeed I have, and I tell you about it! It’s really cool. The left / right mouse button on the mouse is really simple and sensitive, but not too sensitive. It is just perfect for my play COD4 MW2. I love the feeling that has my hand when it rests on the mouse. The cable is much better than my old [G5] mouse. . . The two side buttons are the perfect size for my fingers crossed too! The icon on the mouse lights on and off 24 / 7 It does not drift. The other review was obviously someone who had their mouse cord in an awkward position, and it was difficult to expand. My brother saw this mouse and thought it was really cool. The mouse is awesome lazer, and it moves at the slightest movement of your hand. I like the icon on the mouse, its very cool. I have set the software once, just to speed on the pointer movement on the screen. First, its a little fast, but I have it easy on what I like adapted. I also saw that you could do things your buttons. . . like when you click “left”, the letter g is taken as text. The only use is to play, if you know what the talking.
I have this nice thing, because I loved it at the moment – I would not write it differently.

I have a 24 “monitor, and when to click, I want a link that places the monitor’s edge, you’ll never need your mouse to move around the end of the table (in contrast to normal mice), or that they perfect for games that require a quick hand as CSS DoD TF2 L4D etc.
the side buttons helped me a lot, it works as (Forward / Back) in browsers, and games, well .. I do not know to explain how and you get the exact point, but you can say I make a frag grenade from one of these buttons when I throw again quickly Assualt rifle from the other side button, yeah, it’s cool, I know that (lol)

This is the most comfortable mouse I have ever had. The curve of the body fits my hand perfectly. The withdrawal of the right and left mouse buttons feel wonderful – of course, only the fingers to rest in place. The two side buttons are perfect. Unlike so many other mice, these are large and sit exactly where your thumb grips the side. (I use constantly four and five, this is a big deal.)
As for the movement that is extremely responsive and precise. Due to tidy desk I have little room for my mouse. This means I have to move the cursor across the screen with tiny mouse movements. Any other gaming mouse I’ve heard, has a little bit, if I zoom in for close target really stuttered. The Deathadder has almost surgical precision. It moves fast, it is quick, and click the buttons quickly, can you say with minimal movements of the fingers.
You, I love it? The only disadvantage I can think of has to do with its overall size. I have small hands and it feels specially made for me. A couple of friends with an average hands, it was also really comfortable. But I have a feeling it might cramped even for someone with very large hands.

I am one of those rare spawns. You know female gamers who do not suck, nor rely on our female Wiles to get through games? I’m not big on money, I know, crazy. So when I got this mouse for Christmas, I was pretty excited. . .
As a girl I tend to not have the long, REACH any key while-resting-on-WASD hands. And you would not believe what is a disadvantage for the gaming
I’d been working on key mapping on my board anymore and I could just not find a good place, I could just on the fly “for to achieve some skills, because again, my hands are just too small. So always use a mouse with extra buttons was a god send… or so I thought.
It’s Too Darn big! The image on to explain the main page appears, as the ergonomics and work where you should rest your hand… Mine is a good bit lower. I can hit the lowest button on the side, but at the top I take out my hand, where it can and is thus no longer with the mouse made a smooth transition. Annoying and awkawrd.
Another problem I had, although I’m sure has something to do with my software if I put my mouse on the higher DPI, it actually skips over large parts of the room while moving across the screen. So the 2nd reason I wanted a new mouse (increased sensitivity) does not come either.
It is a decent mouse. Nothing to Write Home About… I know how the bright blue though. It matches my Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard (which I love)… and you know how we girls are “pretty” and “Matching” stuff!
PS. I would love it if I could find games Accessories, oriented to the petite. Hint, Hint!
