   In particular, here are the “professionals” of the mouse:
   * It has a lot of buttons
   * It glows bright colors and
   * It looks expensive and has a small skinned WoW logo on the plastic, and a WoW UI software.
   
   Here are the disadvantages: * It uses
   delays, loops and timers, and encourages users of the delays that leave default. This is against the WoW terms of use and can get your account banned. If you manually turn it off and know what you do, you’ll be fine.
   * The “macro-system” is only insertion of keys in the keyboard buffer. That is, if you “stop attack” a mob that was just sheeped or Crowd Control effects will be the keys collide “type” with other keys that you have the time (including your “WASD” movement keys) and type it directly into the in-game chat buffer. (See Video) This is exactly the same macro functionality as any other macro-capable * non-WoW mouse.
   Names with extended ASCII characters are not recognized by the macro software. That is, those will not be able to use the armory function within the software.
   With extended ASCII or non-US locales * The software does not come supplied in the box. If you do not have the internet for some ungodly reason and plan on using this mouse on an offline PC game, you’re out of luck.

   The “not good not bad” Parts:
   * The mouse (at least IMHO) is unpleasant for those with small hands. I am a female gamer with small hands (5′2 “, 100 lbs) – Extended Play sessions are not possible with this mouse because it is designed for larger hands.

   As a 15-button mouse, you’re not going anything like it on the market find right now. If you feel unconcerned with the built-in macro functionality, free to support this mouse with a single-character keyboard layout (for example, use “f” as in-game keyboard layout instead of “/ assist”) . However, as the feature-rich design-for-World-of-Warcraft-mouse, was advertised with these specially designed co-features, I am surprised that the macro-system the same as other mice on the market, and that the Mouse User Guide recommend Breaking the WoW’s terms of use.

2. You’ve probably already read that this mouse is generally good for the Warcraft players and bad for almost everyone else. While the mouse has some redeemable Statistics hardware-wise, DPI vote, report, yadda yadda, all features that would interest a WoW player disappointing.

   The “macro to build” that in the mouse, run the text box to get into the game and the mouse actually type each letter of your macro in the chat frame are. Obviously, the macro makes useless, as you can probably enter them manually faster. The other fault with the macros was that if you had removed a custom macros and build the delay between keystrokes, the macro too fast or too inaccurate or incomplete run typed.

   The mouse is only capable of actuating buttons on your action bar, or PET-Main Bar. So, if you key on other bars you need to use a workaround, and map the mouse buttons to keystrokes and your card action buttons in the game the same key combination. It works very well in the game, but you need to get behind the idea that you now set your game up to the limits of your mouse, and that these keys are still the same useless keystroke combos outside of the game. Alt + Shift + Q is not all that useful outside of WoW now?

   The software itself was a bit difficult to operate, even for an experienced WoW player. My biggest problem was ultimately about setting or resetting the basic mouse functions, we used to frustrations with other mouse on Earth. I remapped back to the “Browser” button and there was nothing in the documentation to tell me how to regain this function. (Which you find in a drop-down menu by right clicking on the button in the diagram on the screen with the mouse. But I have a feeling that if I press remapped the right mouse button, that I have to uninstall and reinstall that you get back.)

   The keys themselves are well as defects. The ring-finger key 2 keys on a seesaw, which are pressed with the left side of the ring finger needs. This is not a particularly sensitive part of a finger without applause for his dexterity. The decryption of the two buttons that you could be at a particular time was impossible and pressing need to press the button to lead to enough force that you actively some of the buttons on the opposite side of the mouse with the thumb. In the end I ended up mapping of both the ring-finger rocker buttons to perform the same function and gluing a piece of rubber to it could then the button with a natural motion to be activated as a trigger (with the ring finger) instead of a scissors movement between the middle and ring fingers that the inadvertent activation facilitates the thumb buttons.

   The thumb buttons were difficult to use the best. Or, I could strangle someone with some 19 inch neck. The number four thumb-button on the cradle was out of reach without the use of two movements with the mouse in my hand a little bit of the reach of spin for him. It was useless for gaming. The other three buttons on the four-way rocker thumb button activates an adjacent approximately 85% of the times I clicked in the game. The workaround I use, the number two and number four was off button, all together (these are the closest and furthest from the base of the thumb). The two traditional (browser FWD / back) thumb buttons are much further apart, horizontal, rather than any mouse I’ve ever seen, but this is not a bad thing, it is a bit of space feel so its way thumb can choose between the two of them and the four-way rocker switch easily among them.

   There are raised buttons on the inner edges of the two main traditional mouse buttons these are probably the most useful one of the additional keys on the mouse. If you have a two finger style (left and right click with your index finger and middle finger of each) you may find they are positioned so that you will use the extra buttons for the raised primary and secondary click. You should have laid more on the outsides of these keys to keep them under constant finger, but the height makes them clear, and after an hour playing two I found I could deal with them.

   The scroll wheel is handy and the active force to the wheel button is in order. They will not move in this spinning wheel to large menus or text documents, though, because it has no inertia to speak.

   Two more assignable buttons next to the scroll wheel are safe from accidental click and good for the DPI on-the-fly capabilities, but unless you’re double jointed you will not be with them for the frequent clicks.

   The rear half of the mouse sits on what amounts to rubber wings. The hand is free of the mouse surface. Which is great for keeping your gloves in your grubby Mousepad untouched, but for those of us whose little fingers to play a stabilizing role in our game are the wings for making us feel more detached from the experience of large mousing. I could cut off a portion of the right wing with metal shears, slip without the mouse so that the little finger could be grounded again.

   The last error was the surface of the mouse. It’s smooth plastic. Very smooth. So smooth that I could not keep the mouse in my hand when I pick it up from the pad, had to reposition it again. Or I could squeeze really hard and activate any number of keys. The point is their Gamer mice raise often, and this surface is smooth. It seems like there’s no thought put into the surface.

   The LEDs are useless. She will not sleep with you even though your “mouse is so cute, it looks like it’s breathing.” Not only that, but the hand is they are completely covered during the game, so no third Parties go to write a useful program for them. What they did was manage to achieve slide the mouse over the performance of my G15 keyboard, USB hub was able to support, secured itself as the only device. This meant the cable at two feet, literally, was a disadvantage on a large desk.

   All in all, the mouse is used with WoW clunky, the buttons are badly positioned, the key Rocker are terrible ideas (think: very small Sega Genesis D-Pad controller, if you imagine the thumb rocker), and the mouse is too hard to hold in an average hand. So if you are a collector or you have a giant hand with a bomb technician skill and purpose-built Gamer calluses you will a lot of heartache with this mouse and have exactly the press many buttons.

3. I have this mouse and was disapointed that Warcraft to stop responding to the Windows button 4 and 5. The mouse is also a lot and I have often reset. Some of the macros I use in Warcraft do not work when I apply it to the mouse. So if you or RAID arena, this mouse can do a lot of problems. I recommend going with another brand and the avoidance of all problems connected with this mouse. I already have a new mouse to order.

4. 03/25/2009 Update: Mouse, turning to junk today. Filed in WoW that evening and was unpleasantly surprised: Rocker button 2 to stop responding under all circumstances, and the software could not recall any preset macros. I un-installed and updated the drivers and the software continues to blur all presets, no matter how many times you go back in and put them back, making the mouse useless. Without programming whatsoever, and no support from Steel Series, this is completely wasted $ 100. No point with 15 buttons when none of them doing anything at all. : (Sorry, I had to say anything good about this mouse before. Junk.

   ——————– ———————–< br /> I bought this mouse coz I spend an embarrassing amount of time playing WoW and while I thoroughly enjoyed my nine to investigate CybaSnipa-button mouse (which I recommend), the idea, with 15 keys me to buy and continue to use (and recommend with qualifications) The SteelSeries WoW mouse.

   ; Note, I use a Logitech G15 eXactMat Keyboard classic 18-key and the astonishing Razer mouse pad control along with my SteelSeries WoW mouse. In-game, I use all 10 bars with Bartender4 displayed, and all this is to say, I live for more macros and buttons, the better.

   So, the pros:
   Lots’ n ‘lots o’ buttons. I love my super comfortable Cybasnipa 9 Button the mouse, but find, as a WoW player with a hunter, it is very sweet, relieve some of my common tasks on my mouse, hunter brand pet passive, and three different target macros MD mount / dismount point swapping, mend PET and Explosive Trap all have been dumped on my mouse SteelSeries. I do not think I can go back to a mouse with fewer buttons now. It is so convenient.

   software downloaded as soon as you mess around with him for a few minutes, is easy to use and set up a simple keystroke and actions to assign mouse buttons. It took a bit to remember all the things that I had dumped on the mouse buttons myself but now that I know my game is quickly and simple.

   Mouse is built solid. Cybasnipa My mouse wheel / button combo took a terrible won and no more, finally responding. SteelSeries WoW mouse is durable and has a much better Scroller / Button up. There is a lot more abuse than I could Cybasnipa.

   The Cons:
   It is a great mouse, as to be, to all of the buttons has room. If I go to the front four-way rocker switch thumb, I actually move my hand forward, as I can not reach the button in my hand resting position further back. The forward button above the thumb and ring finger of the front rocker switch also need a route to women’s hands, can break the flow of the game during a boss encounter or arena, for example. Men should have no trouble, however.

   I have no idea why, but reacts with SteelSeries WoW mouse suddenly stopped, and does, as if “unrelated” on my computer. It takes so much power I have, to put it in an AC- plug in USB hub as my G15 can not process the load, and it is still dark, and you have to wait and move the mouse from side to side on the pad til Windows “detects new hardware” again. Or must I get up, drag the mouse from the USB hub, and close it. This is not used only for a few minutes, and does not happen all the time. I am not able to identify a pattern to separate, with this annoying behavior, but it can sometimes be maddening.

   The macro key mapping software is not as versatile as my Cybasnipa it is. If you try something like / console CameraDistanceMaxFactor 50 to a button, with the Steel Series will attempt to give literally, assign the string in the chat instead of the performance of the console function. The Scroll write to WoW macros to bind keys it and then assign the key combination that SteelSeries button. This is a hack consumes my limited wow macro buffer used keyboard layout I do not want to use up (coz I bound to other standard macros or functions that I can not play without), and is the largest I con can give. < , br />
   Bottom Line Pro are: If you need buttons, resourceful in macro / keyboard layout and can live with the disadvantages, there is nothing on the market, the SteelSeries beat.

   Con Bottom line: great power hog mouse with less than perfect connectivity, with less than ideal key mapping technology.

   If you need 15 buttons on the mouse (and I) , then the Steel Series is the only game in town. If not, then check out the only other competition, very comfortable, but less robust Cybasnipa 9 button mouse.

5. For the price, I felt robbed. I could have bought a Logitech G15 and had more functionality. Do not buy, unless you brag that you only need one or a lighted mouse as you want in the dark game.
