Time Commanders: The Battle of Chalons Part 1. It uses an edited version of the game engine behind the real-time strategy game Rome: Total War by the Creative Assembly to recreate famous battles of the ancient world. The battles are replayed by 4-player teams from diverse backgrounds. The teams are unfamiliar with computer games, to make sure their gaming skills do not influence their success. After a brief introduction of the battle, including an overview of military units, terrain and available forces, the players have to develop a strategy and then deploy their forces. Two of the players are selected as generals, who will direct the battle and have access to a strategic map. The other two players are designated lieutenants, the units are indirectly controlled by the lieutenants, who issue commands to program assistants, who in turn use the game interface to control the units.
Rome Total War is fun but not super realistic, if you ask real experts

For an RTS? These are still pretty spectacular graphics. This is probably because, unfortunately, come to the only other major RTS Halo Wars was since then that have no real effort to improve the genre in general.

@ PowerHungryKitten will have to remember was released from 2004/2005, the same year Rome Total was quite spectacular and the graphics were back then.

I find it funny that they say “state of the art technology” and on the other side “computer games are bad and ruin our children.” Computer games rule! (Especially Rome: Total War ^ ^)

@ It is Justinian43 Rome: Total War! Refurbished, natürlich.Interessante actually have people in military command for once, even if they are not exactly real soldiers. For the first time, I am really confident that the players avoided from the outset or at least buying any obvious errors, so this seems like it could be a scenario be more difficult than usual.
