Actually, I had the opportunity to play that game months ago via a Japanese copy. Past Harvest Moon games around the same premise revolved: grow, raise animals, fish, mine, etc.. I have been waiting for this game for many, many months. After numerous setbacks with the release of data “I was very excited when it finally on my street last week.
As soon as I started the game but I was very disappointed to find out the game allows you to only move your character, the “Stylus” and the D-Pad works like pressing the button. I’m all for implementing the use of the stylus in DS games, but there should be an option… not a requirement .
Everything in this game just seems to take forever. move with the pen and to activate only will your tools with the buttons is a pain. The character of tires quickly and is constantly forage for food. The whole thing is just embarrassing for me and I lose interest in the game very quickly. I played Zelda Phantom Hourglass is moving with the method of the stylus, but in this game, it just worked better.
IMO the biggest challenge of this game with the controls, while the game itself is not very demanding. Many functions appear removed from the game and it’s just kind of bored. It is not even measure up to HM DS Cute. I’m sure some people will enjoy this game and possibly will not be harassed by the stylus interface, but Natsume missed the mark for me.
I’m really disappointed and hope that the D-pad issues are addressed in future versions, or I will not even consider other HM DS game.

I bought this game and it at Game Stop, but I played through this game for two hours and seems like a really fun game so far. But all I have to say is that Natsume made a big mistake of the concept of using the stylus for the entire game, the controls is really annoying.
Graphics
Typical Harvest moon graphics, you pretty much the same as the other Harvest Moon DS
sounds I love music in pretty good spring break and upbeating. I pretty much like all the Harvest Moon Music.
Great gameplay terms, you have money to buy a new bridge and get more people on the island. The more you work and earn more money and more shippment, the more people come.
Controls by far the worst part, but the most important part. I know I complained about the pin, but use it for your tools, moving costs, and pretty much everything. The control pad and buttons are only good crops or choose your weapons, but it is at this point just use the stylus. L and R buttons are pointless, it makes your character run, but you have your stylus to do it for you automatically.
Maybe I did not use to the pen or checks received role But I like to move with the D-Pad and buttons to the farm. It is a kind of annoying because a lot slower farm. This means you have to go out there and tap the pin and then move do again and again. Now it was just the D-Pad, but it is a pain with the style, because the character does not move when you tell him / her to do.
Also You can not cheat with the method, something from your rugsack easily you go tap on the menu, and then put it in your box to read and then you send it. Then you ask the question Do you really want to ship. I’m not so sure if you loose friendship points when you would not, or litter.

Natsume have hit the mark when they implemented the controls as the other Harvest Moon games. If I knew the checks were bad, I would not have bought the game nor the game guide because I every Harvest Moon game I of them for the DS and Game Boy, N64, Gamecube, etc., and has bought.

How many of the criticisms that the average score was, I am a veteran HM player. I played Harvest Moon DS: Iceland has more than fifty hours of Happiness now (almost 5 years) and were very disappointed. It’s addictive, but it is not fun and frustrating.
Pros:
1 Includes both boy and girl main characters in a game. Big plus.
2 Using the touch-control compared to HM DS. People complain about lack of control, but you just have to get used to it. Note that the D-pad/buttons use to select and use the tools.
3 Almost no errors and mishaps. Very solid.
4 The reconstruction of the city a whole island is a refreshing approach.
5 Tool upgrade adds a nice RPG with wonderful element.
Cons:
1 Frustrating randomness. Crops grow only on the weather, which makes sense dependent. However, you can go without rain for a whole season winning cause it too much or received a number of cloudy days.
2 Budget Events and Festivals cheap. The elements that are truly great from the HM games again neglected. The festivals have no activities, participation is only crap. Where the fighting tomato, chicken Sumo are horse races, etc?? There is not even a romantic mountain scenes.
3 Mining is still no fun and fall is a great time and you can avoid it if you want to make progress. Mining sucks.
4 A lot of design decisions circumcision: Several villagers have the same model, not a wedding dress / tuxedo for marriages, repetitive dialogue.
5 You are forced to make from time to undress or to prevent people from refusing your gifts. Note that this game can up to 99 villagers.
6th So many small and expensive upgrades to slow down.
7th Animal Care Mini-games are not fun and gives you only bubbles.
8 Harvest Sprites not help you at work on the farm!
Update – Lost some major disadvantages:
9 Separate beds spouses. . . what a difficult relationship.
10th Growing trees is terrible. to grow over a year and to 1-2 years in addition to the profit more than the cost of seed.
11th No mayor, no clinic, no library would be (helpful to explain all the complications), etc. Just farm shops, two restaurants and two hotels. What a lame city.

Harvest Moon Iceland is the real, long-awaited remake of the series for the Nintendo DS. All graphics are full 3D, 2D, there are beautiful portraits of the characters with a variety of facial expressions and the whole environment is very beautiful. This game is much more challenging to obtain than some of the original Harvest Moon, mainly due to the difficult sun / rain harvesting and hard-to-beautiful stones. The game forces the player to befriend many of the villagers, and the main objective is to build Sunny Iceland and other people on the move, some of the bachelors / bachelorettes. (The island itself is also very large and fun to explore.)
As can be either male or female, and the fact that to play it save two files, this is in Indeed a very good game – it’s like 2 in 1 No more waiting for the girl version, etc. The only significant difficulty, in addition to the challenge (which im sure many players enjoy is), that exclusive touch controls, it can be a bit annoying, especially when it comes to watering crops comes. However it takes to get used only a few hours, and then, players can use this option to find more immersive and intuitive. You can comfortably on characters from tap on the screen to give them gifts, and there is almost no chance of accidentally “Littering.”
All in all, Harvest Moon of Happiness Iceland a wonderful step forward in the series and avid fans will not be disappointed.
