I bought one for me over the weekend (thanks to a tip from a friend who works in a business that you do not think of shopping for games, and they just happened to have a few left!)
This device is great! I already own a GBA SP, but wanted a DS for the following reasons: buy
* Advanced Graphics: The 3D capabilities of this machine are amazing. Mario64 DS looks better than on a handheld Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 and a TV! Saw
* Great sound: You can choose between surround sound, stereo headphones or optimized. It also includes an integrated headphone jack, something that was noticeably absent from the SP.
* Backwards compatibility: I play all Game Boy Advance games (though not original GB or GB Color) and can be a DS game and a Game Boy Advance games at the same time keeping.
* Touchscreen: gimmick or revolution? I like how touch was integrated in Mario64 and Metroid Prime: Hunters demo that is included with the DS. I think future games will confirm whether it is a true success or just a niche idea.
As in the product description states, it comes with two screens, the lower touch-sensitive. To the bottom of the screen you touch one of the two replacement stylus that with the product or a thumb strap that a plastic part that can be used for certain types of games that can use occurs.
Now is the DS library quite limited (less than 20 games at the moment), but there are many games announced for the future. There are literally dozens of great GBA games, so if you’re buying this fear as a gift, not you buy a GBA game if you do not decide on a DS you can.

I bought Nintendo DS system last year for my two sons, aged 6 and 10 The purchase was actually on impulse because I was in the shop when they just happened to receive a shipment. I knew nothing about them and had never heard of them. This is actually one of the best electronic purchases that I have ever done for the guys proved.
Each of them had the Game Boy Advance but were never really in the “hand” games as much as with their full size TV games. I really am, how much these systems are actually used to be surprised!
As the systems have a clock, the boys each use them for the alarm clock in the morning! I think the chargers plugged outlets behind her bedside. This insures the systems will always find its way back to this place at the end of the day.
The fact that I do not buy batteries or battery or charger is like. You just plug the cable into any household outlet and there is a small socket at the other end that plugs into the Nintendo DS. These fees set up the system so it is ready. There are also lights up on the DS that you know when the device is charged or to be running out.
This system has a feature that my guys enjoy and use frequently. It is picto chat. No additional software or accessories for this use. It is really built into the system. This feature enables anyone with a DS wirelessly hook up to each other and talk via text messaging. There is a small keyboard that shows on the bottom screen and use your little stylus to type, say what you want. It is sent to the other DS. It is like a text messaging walkie-talkie. My boys love this feature.
There are not an overwhelming selection of games. . . at least not yet. My boys keep going back to Yoshi’s Touch and Go. The recent Nintendogs are great and are another favorite.
The games are tiny little square chips that slide easily into a port on the DS. I have a sweater bought plastic box from the dollar store to hold the game cases. I have insisted that the games go into their cases and in the pits, because they are very small and are easily mislaid.
Think is a port on the earlier Advance Games so that the investments we have made in these games in the past does not depend on the older systems. I’ve found that my boys play the older games more and more on the DS, as they have on their older systems.
The whole design is good for all the great hands. The fun in the games is to use the stylus to play the games. I do not pick up in the games, but I enjoy and occasionally play. There is a small slot on the system with the pen to hold, if it is not in use.
The top closes so the screens are not exposed when not in use. This helps to avoid scratches.
An additional feature that the boys like is that by buying a game, both can play at the same time, leading to a mini version of the game seems to be. Those of us knows, with more than one CHLD that sometimes two of the same are necessary, but it is nice to be able to buy only occasionally by something.
I did not buy any starter packs or other accessories because I see exactly what we wanted to do. So far we have not needed except cases. The boys did not want this, I have.
This system also has a bracelet that you pick if you do not want to.
From the perspective of a mom has proven to be a worthwhile investment. My boys love their systems and use them all the time. I can not comment on the more technical aspects of the game as well. . . I base on my opinion when the toy is amazing how much my kids love it based on how easy it is for me to set-up or break how much it costs me in the accessories and add-ons after the initial purchase, and how to play a lot of “time” it receives.
Based on this criterion, I give this system 5 stars.
It seems as whether this system is not the attention of the PSP has received, and I often wonder if my boys would have even asked if I did not get it for them last year. I am so happy and I am sure they are, that we found this little gadget.

I know that many of you are probably skeptical, but my girlfriend’s mother for Nintendo merchandising, and she was recently sent their very own DS. In return, they asked me to find out all the details and report back to her.
I must admit that I was originally very skeptical of the system. I love my SP, and the last thing I want is to replace it (although Nintendo’s assertion that this does not replace GBA … Ha). However, real low sat with him for a while and searched through all the menus, I must admit I’m impressed. Oh, who am I kidding? I’m thrilled.
How is it different from the SP? His larger, more secure (shaped like the old Game & Watch systems), and we all know about the new touch-screen, but will try the system will not be cumbersome to use a pen with a portable game system? Again I thought too, but it basically turns your game system into the coolest Palm Pilot in the history of the planet. I did a lot of fun, just surfing through the menus and customize (you can in your birth date and your nickname). You can choose whether to keep the backlight, you should to save energy, and of course there’s cool that PictoChat feature, which I unfortunately can not really use until it is to talk to another user. And I did all this without ever stopping the meeting. In fact, the buttons on the right side of the species was unnecessary.
And it was postponed for the included Metroid: Hunters. Once again, there’s not much I can do with the game (well especially multiplayer Hunters, and there is nobody else to play), but I’m training a shot. I quickly got the hang of it. When shooting with L, moving forward and guns with my left hand and looks around with the stylus. Brought me back to my high school days in Quake with four buttons and a mouse. Is it perfect? No, but it’s close? Oh yes.
Write in, I would give up 4th 5 stars, and only that low because I do not have a real chance the network aspect of it, to explore the system is officially released. Even if I do it already, I’m still looking forward to the release date, because when you walk in all multiplayer Metroid looking for a fight, I am training for the last two weeks have been his.

The Nintendo DS is really a great gaming system. I rate it in five categories below.
Graphics – This is one of the low points when you are comparing to the PSP, but when you play games like Metroid Prime Hunters, these Graphics really amazing, but other games are just sticking with the 2D-so i give ‘ll that a fourth

Games / Software
The games for the DS at the moment not the best, but the end of the year, we will have tons of great games like Nintendogs, Metroid Prime Hunters, Kirby, Mario and Luigi 2, New Super Mario Bros, 007 Rogue Agent, and Mario Kart DS, plus the games that already look like Wario Ware Touched Super Mario and 64th You can also play all Game Boy Advance game, you want to make the game library of 500 games already. A Zelda game is certainly possible to come a remake of the Ocirana of Time, which indisputably one of the best game ever, next to Final Fantasy VII A Super Smash Bros. game might come too.

Nintendo will have a free wirless service for the end of 2005. be the first game to use it is Mario Kart DS. This means you could live in St. Louis Missouri and race against someone in Orlando, Florida with out hooking anything up, but for those who can not in larger cities, they are only ds hook up to a modem. And all will be free, according to the magazine Nintendo Power.
