  1. A few people remember the dungeon adventures almost Chocobo had ten years ago. This time, find treasure hunting companions Chocobo and Cid Lostime their way to where the people are losing their memories as a result of the regular ringing of the bell, clock tower rises above the city. This is the game’s premise, in which you have and fight your way through a series of dungeons to recover any lost memories. While not for the more difficult concept for a story there, Chocobo’s Dungeon for Wii lovingly pays tribute to the roguelike series of games, a genre that is honestly not for everyone.

Despite the fantastic storyline, the border tends to overly cute and childlike, is the main star of the game in the first place its focus on exploration dungeon. Although the fighting with the enemies you encounter are, in fact, turn-based, the various floors and the treasures, objects and traps that await you in all of them are randomized. The opponents adapt to every move you into the dungeon, which included a little strategy when it comes dire decisions. In prison and losing everything you have received. Explore Following the gradual build your character’s strengths and skills, and attacks, you soon in a position in other aspects of the game such as the implementation of the job change system, and even know to play mini-games loops unlock more dungeons.

The controls for the game are relatively simple. Can you use the Classic controller, or they play with the Wii Remote, upright or sideways for a more traditional feel. No one should have no difficulties Chocobo control and the menus are very easy to navigate through. The sound of the game is a real hit, however, and Miss. The game of dialogue and the text is complete with a rather annoying voice acting, and certain sound effects (especially Chocobo’s Attack) that can grate on the ears after a while. Fortunately, the musical soundtrack with many familiar melodies from the Final Fantasy series, the very nice surroundings faithful to the originals are filled. The graphics are like nothing to be mad and some people at the finish of the drab washed out visuals WinCE go, but the orthodox image of the cartoon worlds is actually quite perfect for the whole theme of the game.

I would not Chocobo’s Dungeon, because 1) they cute, or 2) it has the Final Fantasy name attached to it looks. The game requires the player a certain amount of dedication have, as it comes with some fairly extensive Dungeon widespread. This could prove to be a rewarding adventure for a while for others it is a repetitive bore can. On the other hand, gave the developers of the game, the game developed simpler and easier to appease more players. The difficulty level is relatively low compared to other games of this nature, what could the hardcore elite lacks a deep experience roguelike disappoint. While I welcome the fact that they want to achieve a greater demographic and introducing more people to this type of game, can Chocobo’s Dungeon has a few shortcomings, both casual and non-casual is disturbed. Nevertheless, anyone who just wants a decent adventure bridge for a while, check it out for themselves. Take it for what it is and just have fun.

  3. Chocobo’s Dungeon for Wii a bit of an odd duck as far as RPGs go, especially targeted towards children RPGs. Chocobo’s Dungeon is one of the best professionally produced “rogue-like” title, which I’ve encountered. If you are wondering what is a “rogue state-like” title, I recommend some light reading on Wikipedia (http://en. Wikipedia. Org / wiki / Roguelike).

To say it bluntly, Chocobo’s Dungeon a niche titles based from a very old formula for several decades since the early days of computer RPGs. It is not far from the different, the formula: random dungeons, random monsters, random treasure, random. . . You get the idea. Every time you move one of the monsters in the dungeon each can do the same, so it requires a fair amount of strategy. Each dungeon consists of several layers each of which ends with a boss battle. If you die in a dungeon you lose all your devices with the exception of the items you have equipped. If that sounds harsh, consider the fact that old-school Rogue-like games usually deleted to save your file if you died and Chocobo’s Dungeon seems quite gracious in comparison. The game also differs from the traditional formula Rogue-like, by going to a job-classes (knight, mage black, white mage, ninja, etc). All in all, it makes improvements to the formula to stay true to the concept. The problem is that the rogue-like formula is probably either went too slow or too difficult for most children to come to grips with (and many adults). If you like Rogue-like games but I recommend it.

Here’s where the appeal tends to rogue-like fans a little drop. The game stops in the story department. I will not lie when I say that the story presentation is generally pretty terrible. The basic idea and concept for the story is actually pretty sweet, but then decided to write a little too much Squaresoft that a large part of the storyline had to center around a baby. To get running around like a big chicken, and help save a baby’s memories of life by diving into their heads and. . . I’m sorry. . . I can not go on. My eyes rolled back in my head and I just started skipping much of the story elements.

    Pros:
    + + + It is a professional, high-quality Rogue similar game.
+ + + Dungeon graphics and monsters are well designed
+ + + The music is quite amazing, complete with brief exceptions. Some of the best music I’ve heard in a video game for a long time.

    Cons:
    — It is a Rogue-like game. A majority of people really do not have the patience for it. This alone will you love or hate it.
    — The backgrounds in the town often look downright ugly, because a poorly implemented depth-of-field blur effect.
    — A decent story concept was massacred.
    — The controls are intuitive, if you really use the Classic Controller.

So, I spent several paragraphs on this rather harshing game that most people probably will not like, but I gave it 4 stars. Why? For although it shortcomings, the game is an excellent rogue-like title and I have a lot of fun with it. Do not expect a traditional Final Fantasy title or a child-friendly action game. That would be like when you see Tiger Woods play golf, and then complain that it’s not as exciting as the Super Bowl. Most of the Rogue-like games do not even have stories or pictures, it is from this game. If you like Rogue-like games, I recommend this title, despite the painful stories, but if you are unsure or are not familiar with the genre, I recommend renting it first.

  4. Despite the kiddy look is Chocobo’s Dungeon is an RPG with some depth roguelike. Many use change jobs (or classes) as the dungeon contexts; discover dozens of products to adapt and equip. The act can jrpg translations and some of the voice a little rust, but the bottom line is this is a funny game with dozens of hours of content.

If you for a solid turn-based RPG on Wii is looking at a decent level of difficulty, Chocobo’s Dungeon is good business.

  5. This game is amazing. I picked it up at Circuit City’s closeout for $ 10 and I would like to pay $ 40 + they have for knowing what I know now. First off, the design is adorable. The hero, Chocobo’s really sweet, but do not let that fool you, it can be hard. The music is great, really interesting and catchy. The story is interesting (although there are some nagging plot holes), and unlike other RPGs. The mini games are really fun and relaxing – so good to be mini-games. The side quests are also fun and benefits the most important game. It is hard enough, so you do not get frustrated. I have played this game in its entirety twice and I want to play again. I have searched for RPGs like this, without success. I would recommend you do it is, adults and children.
