Way back in the day, I was a fan of the Medal of Honor series of games, especially the Allied Assault series. Back in 2002 this was cutting-edge stuff, with its depiction of the D-Day landings, and his blend of realism with solid gameplay. There were limits to what could do the game, however. wanted because the engine and technical limitations, it was not possible to “open” levels, so that the player was guarded carefully where to go to the designer him what would make available to an odd situation, where American soldiers are fighting over an open field, their route impassable wire fences intended. But this was a small complaint in 2002, given the quality of the graphics and the intensity of the measures.
Some of the Allied Assault team broke out in 2002 to a new company, Infinity Ward, the form specific to questions like these and Ramp up the intensity of the war simulation experience address. End of 2003 she started her own thoughts about the concept, Call of Duty, who went to his ancestors eclipse in critical acclaim. Call of Duty 2 carried out on this fine tradition. However, both games are still significantly limited. CoD2 improved things sometimes allows the choice between several different routes to a destination, but it was none of the freedom offered, that would really benefit the game, and the ingredients were feeling a little stale.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the experience by changing to a near-future setting representation of a Middle Eastern warlord and a mental Russian agents joined forces to launch a nuclear attack on the United States and to update the “back” both their countries for the team Crazy. The typical intensive CoD combat experience is to be offered again here, and it must be said that when, on the form, Infinity Ward not to fight for the offer experience, providing a solid approximation of the chaos of actual combat (or be beaten to offer, so I am of people I know informed of the Army). The problem is that Infinity Ward So on recreating the feeling of insane carnage that they had a lot of other elements victims are targeted, what
I have previously mentioned that in 2002 it was just not possible, an open game world with multiple paths to an objective and have a high visual quality. These days it is not even close to a problem no longer, as in CoD4 Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, a game with superior graphics, demonstrated so that the course of the streets of Mexico City and to your own choice of tactics, approaches , use of cover and weapons and calling in assistance as necessary. In CoD4 suddenly stuck in a closely regulated “on a rail” shooter is annoying and frustrating. Engaged in close-quarters firefight street, beat me to the idea of using a side-street to the enemy flank, only to be met by a wall of rugged tires. Great.
Should get any worse, but. The game encourages you to keep on the move, whenever possible, presumably to concentrate because of the creators’ desire for an intense fight. This leads to some ridiculous situations where your entire team will facilitate the exchange of fire with enemy troops on the other side of the court. In any sane military in the world would you clear the area to move all visible enemies and then wipe in and the survivors. You can not do that in CoD4 are the enemy ranks replenished. You can not really put a dent in the enemy numbers, until you move forward to the next target. Yup, this military simulator game basically requires that you charge into enemy rifle fire and engage them at point blank range. Use of the cover and the best range and numbers of the fundamental concepts of modern warfare, are in fact discouraged.
On the positive side, this is a cleverly-produced game, with great music, impressive graphics and instinctive controls. Mission briefings are tastefully implemented and fully utilize the satellite maps. The in-game banter is funny sometimes, though not too far not from the usual macho stereotypes. The designers are clearly enormous fans of Aliens and has music that is very similar to Horner’s score for the film, named after a character at least one foreigner, and quotes the dialogue from the film several times. It is also good, the British and the Russians get to see an in-sight and the Americans (even if you only contingent on the British SAS and train an American marine corps, not the Russian Loyalist forces control). There is also a large but too short level where you play to the gunner on an AC-130 Gunship Lockheed.
The game is an unexpected highlight is flashback mission in Chernobyl, takes only with you and other sniper with the past the heavily fortified perimeter sneak around an enemy to kill dignitaries. This is a very tense, well-designed object of the destroyed city in a very atmospheric way, culminating in an absolutely insane stand-off with half the Russian army, where for once the enemy was actually great number sense. And while I can not usually vote as part of a multiplayer single-player game (because, as studies continue to show three quarters or more of the players in the rule never to play games online, unless an online-only game, of course ) The multiplayer action in CoD4 is solid, as they do not function more generally open plains and of course not infinite waves of enemy forces.
Call of Duty 4 (***) a decent, if very short (what it cost half a star) FPS action, but I think Infinity Ward really need to check what they are trying to do with this series. Training to them as warfare simulator, if they do not encourage or even allow the use of real military tactics to sell, is disingenuous, and the series is currently being overhauled and jump over other games that separated work much better. It looks like the series is in danger of being bland and predictable.

Hello,
Call of Duty 4 is a fantastic game from the single player on the Multiplayer. I’m mainly writing this review to clarify the misunderstanding that Amazon is committing that this game only for Windows XP in order for you to buy the more expensive $ 59. 99 version of this game. The back of the DVD case cover says very clearly that this game is for Windows XP and Vista.
Thanks.

If truth be told, the Second World War had done to death. Since the original Castle Wolfenstein 3D, every war theater, every front every battle was done again and again. Certainly, some more than others and, indeed, a series was produced by great games. However, some game developers do not stop whipping a very tired horse. proved.
Activision had the courage with which they had their form CALL OF DUTY franchise made a huge hit pause. CoD4 is present in a (fictional), in which American and British agents are called to a Russian plutocrat with Soviet nostalgia and terrorist aspirations stop set.
The weapons are new, the gameplay is inventive, the graphics are realistic, the settings are beautiful – a great game all together! And the GOTY Edition comes prepatched and runs like a dream.
Highly Recommended!

I bought this game instead of COD Modern Warfare 2, so that I could get a “feel” for this game before to the latest and greatest. I’m glad I did! I play 1280×960 on a Core2 E6600 (8800GT graphics card). All I can say is WOW. With a quality set of speakers, the realism is fantastic. Get the game and start in if you are new to COD. You will not regret it. Oh, almost forgot. The game loads, configures, and runs perfectly on Windows 7 64 bit. Have fun!

I have played this for the Xbox 360 since launch so far as multiplayer goes, I have recently upgraded my computer and decided to get it, and I enjoyed it, as I do on the 360, it’s a great game and would recommend it to any every platform.
