  1. Evil Genius is a highly addictive strategy game (a kind of Sims game). It has great humor, great graphics, great sound and lots of great gameplay. Unfortunately it has some moments of really boring gameplay and some downright frustration.

In the game you build a bad Lair and send your minions around the world doing evil deeds. Meanwhile, you raise cash, more minions, build a larger base, buid traps, and defend your base against the evil do-gooder agent (ala James Bond) is trying to take it off.

do all these things is great fun. Only the decision on your basic design is fun and the graphics animations are so simple terrifc observe what happens is entertaining. Unfortunately, you really need to read between the lines, the objectives and read the manual a few times (and the online help) to find out exactly how things work. It is very easy, in moments where not much really going on and you can not figure what to put to do next. It is very easy for the moment to go through tedious hours.

Fortunately, the game will just take 40 or more hours to complete and you are sure they want to play at least one more time to everything, take what you learned on your first play.

Overall, Evil Genius is a great blend of strategy and campy humor, you probably keep playing long into the night. Only not wonder if some of those hours are frustrating.

  2. Evil Genius: The game you can not live without, if you ever get the urge to pet fluffy white cat while speaking in a somber tone, and even have your own Doomsday Device.

three options for your Evil Genius: Alexis, the beautiful heiress, whose charm she can loyal minions to keep far longer than the other two. Maximilliam, a megalomaniac businessman and Shen Yu Inescrutable the Lord from China.

All of them are of Coure, stereotypes of the typical Bond Villains. Back when James Bond was good and Scotland, before a certain cocky Englishman jumped in the films.
You get your typical piranha tank traps. Beehive traps, laser traps, traps blade, etcetera.

The goal of the game is the installation of your Doomsday Device. Of course, near the middle of the game when you get really notorious after you have manipulated in the world, you have “Special Agents come” after you sent by the governments of the five continents. They are tough to beat and heavy. But when they captured and sends them in for questioning and / or torture, your Evil Genius automatically walks to the placce of torture and starts to laugh, and his hands.

Rubs course, the Special Agent a high chance of breaking out of the trap.

In fact, it is very difficult to kill Special Agent. But that does not mean do not win the game: Evil does triumph, if they are clever enough.
Especially with creating sites that connect. If a poor lawn slide, ready to laugh at the beautiful chain reaction

The whole game is great with parody and parody of Bond -like.

For example, one of the torments of your prisoners in a giant blender set. No blood, to do all that it is spin spin spin spin spin spin around and flail.

Another Torture is one of your Evil followers a bad Michael Jackson impersonation is doing to the prisoners, including the moonwalk, the “I’m Bad” and the 90 degrees. tend

Strangely, that is when the prisoner shouts the loudest.

The voice is also wonderful. British accents galore, of course. . . but for example sounds like the typical high-class Bond villainess Alexis, to the “Daaaahling”

By default, I love any game where you steal the Eiffel Tower.
Attention to style is stunning: all the menus have silhouette dancing in the background. You know, the hallmark of the 60s and especially the Connery-era Bond films. Only these are humorous. . . For example, the Save / Load screen is an underwater scene to do with divers. . . . synchronized underwater ballet.

I really can not emphasize enough how much I like EC. Go ahead, buy it! Laugh maniacally. . rule the world!

  3. I grew up with James Bond films, and although they might not be in general cinematic masterpieces, has the aesthetic always sparked my imagination. The same spark comes in the box with Evil Genius.
A mishmash of “Dungeon Keeper” and the “Sims” series, Evil Genius brings you to the top of a nefarious, cliché (though never boring) site for world domination. Take the role of a mad mastermind and recruit school in the world devious criminal leaders to your supervisor purposes. Era of the Cold War world authorities will try to stop you with their armed forces and secret services, while your counter legions of loyal minions. Setup operations underground on a picturesque island while wearing the mask of a destination. However, if you cause too much noise and unwelcome guests arrive, give them a true taste of your well-oiled madness. Lay ingenious traps connected on your island, torture prisoners in wickedly humorous way, or just rub it out and has the freezer. Expand your reach to all points around the world with the theft of money, valuable works of art, create landmarks (Eiffel Tower anyone?), And general evil nonsense, like your government Mol cover your tracks. In the end, when everything is perfect, the world comes under the thumb unleash your masterpiece as a doomsday device (which comes in three flavors of Doom).
Sound is great, with a 60-era original Soundtrack and SFX are so detailed you can zoom in and hear the sound of the doors or hear the crackle of the ice in the freezer. GFX are smooth and clean, with bright colors, day / night changes, and one 360-degree view zoom camera. Character animation is flawless and mood, with dozens of comic-like animations. The surface is easy to master and in a few minutes by a detailed X-Com-like view of your Minion’s statistics and worldwide transactions.
I have a second 4P4 w/1GB RAM and a NVIDIA GF4 GFX card. Like I said, it was smooth and clean and everyone should not be a problem with a low-mid-range system. No Doom 3 Upgrade scrambling here; D

Who the James Bond / Austin Powers genre, like 60-era quirkiness, and a good RTS should seriously look at this gem.

  4. I play computer games for Atari and Commodore 64, I’ve seen them all. I rarely have to give, all the games such a high score. Evil Genius deserves high marks this hands down!
It is detailed, well thought out, clever, humorous, engaging, a long playing time of 40-60 hours if you enjoy it and best of all this game has high replay value, since it will not be the same the next time you play it!

Go to the official website, check out the screenshots, download high-resolution videos of actual gameplay and the demo in order to take it for a spin before buying.

    The premise –
I do not usually for the SIM games like this go. I am in first person shooters. This game has me totally absorbed.

If you have ever played a sim game, you will be familiar to play with this style. This game is like SimCity, The Sims and all the hardcore RTS game you’ve ever played. . . . Only this time it was done right!

Your a bad guy tries to dominate the world. You have to build your nest hidden under a mountain on an island. You need to manage their resources to gain popularity ahead, but her warmth from your low crime or you are constantly invaded by the forces of justice. You build your army of minions (pions), then you need to develop their skills so they can develop in advanced minions. As you can grow successfully servants (super villain wizard) Add to fight you SUPERAGENTS the judiciary. All this, while you must steal to get money to pay for your systems, and building your Lair, hold back your equity, your minions keep happy, and achieving your mission objectives. Uff!

    The GOOD –
This game is simply a “40 to 60 hours game play. . . or even longer if you want, drag it out. It’s up to you. Finally, you have to fulfill your tasks in advance, get new toys, and get new gear for your Lair.
The level of detail and thought put into this game is amazing! The graphics are sharp and clear. There are few humorous jokes plastered all over. For example – during interrogation, an agent of justice, your subordinates will begin to dance and sing like Michael Jackson! All the time the agent pleading for mercy! Too funny! If you have money from a mission, your minions carry little cash actually filled briefcases from the helipad of the cave and depositing it in the vault! By the time they finished that process, the money is not added to your account. It’s the little things like this that make the game magical.

Have a wide assortment of missions to fulfill. Some give you gold, other known type, other type of value (valuable paintings, carpets, vases, statues), other people, help you train your men!

You must your head to read through the manual, follow the in-game glossary and the video tutorials. I spent to get used about 5 or 6 hours to the program on the easy setting. Then I started with the whole experience. It has paid off bigtime!

You have so many choices and options that no game ever, like the last one will go! Similar structure. . . but not every time a predictable game. Very nice, this game has high replay value!

For young adults, violence and torture scenes, very mild. . . cute and funny. Not gory or hardcore. This game is supposed to be funny, not taken seriously. An example of torture is the spy in a giant mixer and they are spinning around and around until it so dizzy, they forget what was their mission. Harmless.

The good parts of the game go on and on and is too much to list here!

Now for the bad – only two things
1 – This game is not for young children because it thinking adult level to play this game needs.

2 – There are some minor errors, that can cause big headaches. A patch was released that solve the big problems.
However, my personal experience went like this. . . have to go out on a mission requires that you build a special room for your evil spirit with his evil friends from all over the world, then you take and collect these companions.
I built it and started the mission. I put this space on the edge of my cave. Stupid! Agents kept tunneling in and destroy the room. I destroyed the room and made it in a different location. A good idea, but would do if I would not allow the game that the tasks to be performed, because the place had moved. A bug of the worst kind! I happend to have a previous score of 3 days. I had to pay off three days worth of games. Not bad, but not even big! I lost about 11 hours playing time. If I had not, save that earlier, I would have to start all over again!

My advice, save your game regular (not quick save) with a good label and lift them! Do not delete until you know, everything is in order. I now keep atleast 25 different saves.

This game is great. A lot of effort and deep thought were in this game before to put a single line of code was written game. This game is a role model for other game developers and programmers alike.

As always, I recommend you go to read the game’s official website, screenshots, in-game video play, then download the demo to try before you buy it. See if it is possible for you.

    Good luck!

  5. The interface is really poorly designed in a way, despite what one review said, GameSpy.

Trying to figure it out without the manual is pretty difficult – it does not in any intuitive. the right mouse button on a lot and will help to get used, but it would also be nice if you are a follower not focus on him – it makes it be very difficult, several thugs worse after a super-agent (tough guy, he good Send guy) for example.

It is sometimes difficult to recognize what to do to the plot forward. Small spoiler: Move For example, if you are not a new island, the game never progresses and the attacks more and more ridiculous, without alleiviate the way to them. This can not accept very frustrating especially as the pathetic vivendi website would my forum registration, has no contact information, e-mail, and has a broken contact form so there is no way to complain to myself about it.

; There are also some bugs, and once my game was ruined because briefcases in a way that my man too stupid to get into the vault, were have dropped, they do more work left off.
< br /> However, the gameplay is extremely addictive and I stayed up til 5:00 the other night to play him. I found myself laughing often angry, as I finally found ways to defeat previously unbeatable opponents, and many of the missions were hysterically funny ideas more than anything in Austin Powers.

As for the game itself, it is many years since I have been found
