  1. Please do not waste your money on this game. The 2004 version is much better. This game requires massive computing resources to run and is still restless and painfully slow. On an XP system, it takes almost 15 minutes for the DVD (yes – DVD, no CD-ROM to load) and only first show anything on the screen for the installation. Site support says it can contain over 30 minutes on Vista.

Then there were a number of bugs in the shipped version, you have to download a massive patch from the site. After several hours on my high-speed Internet connection, I went to bed. It is done sometime in the middle of the night. I’m not sure what “bugs” fixed when the card is still tiny and unreadable. I think Hoyle spent all his efforts on the massive and unnecessary graphics.

Finally, the only reason I bought the new version was in the hope that the gaming logic had improved – especially in tournaments. The old game was always clean and put Runaway “throws” no basis in reality. I was hoping this was corrected, but no such luck. It’s still just as bad as in 2004.

This is straight to a landfill. I would not even donate to Goodwill this game.

  2. The craps game was from someone who does not play craps designed. Money piled on top of your own chips makes it difficult. Also placement rate is nearly impossible. terrible game to play. In Vegas, everyone gets their own site where only their chips. This game does not even come close to that while betting with their computer players seem to place where ever they want.

  3. If the 2004 version of this, hold it! No new characters, game options and less choppy graphics. Playing in the middle of this game when I renamed my character changed venues to Alex, deducted $ 2,500 from my account and took me the ability to speak, why ????? Also, there is no beverage service. You can save money, I have uninstalled it and am in the 2004 version again, which is excellent.

  4. So this program bought for my XP system (also wanted to install Vista on a computer system). The download of the CD took forever and a day. Once it was finally installed, I can not believe how slow is any function. Try to play blackjack. Forget it. The dealer deals the cards, but do not show any cards until the dealer is completely finished. Horse Racing. . . . I did not have time for the horses waiting for their race to be completed. . Slot machines. . . very slowly. The only game I found, that was fast was the video poker and video blackjack. What a waste of money.

  5. Got to replace this version of my disc cracked in 2004. It is the worst I will ever software program installed. I consider myself lucky to get a refund, and since 2004 they have found another disc is used. The problems seem to have started after the publisher has changed from Sierra to Encore.
Check Hoyle forums about everything you see, is that they are aware of the problems and work towards a solution. . . . . . . .
