Excellent collection of puzzles. . . Great audio and video effects, and the games are simple enough for general use and complex enough for interest and stimulation.
Is only negative, upon activation of the games that take your entire screen, and can not be “reduced” run in the background.

I loved the game Hoyle series (Card Games, Casino, Puzzle and Board) for many years. However, the last Mac versions were published in 2002, and only compatible with OS 9th These older versions were still playable on pre-Intel Macs, but the newer Macs with Intel chips do not need more compatibility with existing Mac OS X software.
Finally the long wait over and new versions of the Hoyle games are excellent for today’s Mac users!

The real tragedy is that this must have been a first-class game when programmed correctly. It seems that in each of the games based on chance, especially those that use rolls of the dice seems to program the game to choose a “lucky” players at the start of the game. This player will roll doubles to turn all the others, or a high number or whatever happens, that players need. One can say who the “luck” plays within a few revolutions. I can move within 5 or 6 in one of these games, tell who will win. It makes the game really boring after a while and not much fun to play. It has become so annoying that I only have the games that rely on skill and not only play games where the luck comes into play.
I know it is possible a good job of programming software for random selection do it because I have played many good games of this type. It’s just a shame that the programmers who work for Encore (the company that makes this game) is either too lazy or not skilled enough to have to create such a program. Since this is a great game instead of wasting money that it has been.

I have never before Hoyle software to buy, but this package offers mucho bang for the buck, as most of downloadable shareware games are $ 20 per game. There are some intriguing games in here, and they run flawlessly on my Mac Pro and my G4.
I have only three complaints in order of increasing importance:
1 The graphics are pretty low-res is not the beauty of many of the new games for Mac, the elegant graphic style of the OS.
2 The rules for all games in a single PDF file, so if you need to rules, you load a PDF reader to wait, and then search a large document to find your game.
; 3 There is little progress in the game, as more and play better. There are high values in a menu, but every game is basically the same thing over and over, so you never get a sense of progressing through higher levels. Some games have increasingly difficult levels to choose from, but if you play a certain level and for an hour, you get no sense in terms of points or level reached, that you achieved nothing.

If you have an older version, I would recommend you to what you have to stay. The graphics were improved but the sound effects in the new version, specifically Triple yacht are annoying.
