Why Encore feel the need to annually release versions of the Hoyle series is totally beyond me. I think they spend most of their time designing a cool looking box on the hard drive instead of improving the game itself, I also believe that they can only assume that by using the “Hoyle” name on the box means that people automatically buy their product.
The 2010 is basically identical to the 2009 version. The games seem to have changed. In fact, all games Hoyle, (Card, Puzzle and Board), seems like remarkably similar in gameplay Hoyle versions of recent years.
I also use Hoyle table games and board games 2004. This is where they were from Sierra. These titles work on Windows 7 and, interestingly, they are just more fun. Newer does not always mean better in terms of software.
If you have any Hoyle Puzzle / Board / Table games from the past, you can also skip the edition 2010. You are only good money away. Otherwise you will find an older edition on eBay.
I’m using Encore and this year titles, which offer little fed into the kind of new games, or improvements to the games already included. Please do not fall for this scam as I did, and save your $ 20.

I bought the previous version of this software for a computer. I later replaced that computer. When I went to install this game for my children, I no longer had the serial number that was apparently written on the original packaging. I contacted the company and they will not me a new code without giving them $ 10. The game is not worth know that

Poor children do not follow instructions, no help in the manual on the use of keys on the keyboard or mouse.
Adults not fair better. would not recommend it. old version much, much better!

I played this on OS 9, and I am glad these games are now in a format that will play on OS X Intel, are available. I hope that when the next big change comes in operating systems, the company will make them favorites on this system playable. There are good reasons for some of these games have been popular for so long. Backgammon, for example, has about 5,000 years ago! Games such as backgammon, Chinese checkers, chess, dominoes and have stood the test of time because they are good challenging games that the ideal combination of skill, strategy and luck.

I was very excited about this version coming out, but I immediately found that it is not nearly as good as the previous version. This is the last “upgrade” I plan to buy any product Hoyle. I’m playing again, which I already have. Very disappointing.
