Nancy Drew 19: The Haunting of Castle Malloy
Before I begin. . .
My review will be spilled into sections and have a deep insight into the topic. If you hate reading medium / long posts or simply do not have the patience, I will not read further, but if you learn to most about the product before you buy it you want to continue.
interface
The interface is the same as always, in the direction you go in and hit another one. However, moving castle is through a third person view, which offsets the whole “I’m Nancy Drew!” to feel. But do not worry, it’s only if your out there in the darkness, so you never see Nancy, just a figure quite Sun What is stupifies me that Nancy talks on her cell phone in the first scene, but she loses it somehow and we have to use a cell phone, so there is no phone icon in the UI. This interface is great, the only thing that bugged me was affecting the third person, if they are outside the Castle Malloy.

-Plot
In this adventure is Nancy off to Ireland as maid of honor Kyler Malloy, who gets married to Matt Simmons in a few days. But when Nancy comes, says Matt, that is Kyler disappeared! It’s up to Nancy Drew Matt find and save the marriage. The action is good, but they could highlight different parts have more. Like the fact that Kit and Kyler Foley (Matt’s best friend) a couple came from. Unfortunately, there is very little drama about the love triangle (maybe because all the Nancy Drew games are quite modest). Very little about the history of the castle is also disclosed. The fact that half of the castle is blown up into pieces interesting, but does not get much more information on why it blew up. I think that gives the basics of the plot it, but more in the development it could have gone.
***
There are four characters characters, each with different personalities in this game. But since one is missing, there are really only three characters. The character development and interaction was dissapointing. The backgrounds of each character are very short and showed only one character stood out. to be your bride is Kyler Malloy, who recently found out her family heritage. It’s sweet and friendly, but not much else to her, she believes that Matt’s dissapearence a trick is. Then there’s Kit Foley, of Matt’s best friend is. Kit is in the real estate industry, and unfortunately even more boring than Kyler. He did not leave a lot of personality and easy to believe that Matt has on Kyler. Finally, there is Donal, an old Irishman, stubborn, and to hear quite a hoot. He is the caretaker and believes that “the fairies have taken” Matt, because he was not Irish. I would be talking about Matt, but you do not see until the end of the game, which is rather dissapointing. It would be nice to have at least Matt in the beginning, before mysteriously disappearing. Overall, the characters seemed to be significant to the game at all, because you hardly talked to them. The game could have developed superior, if only the characters more.

-Setting & Graphics
First, by the Graphis amazing. However, everything was completely wrong. I found it crazy that the game took place in one night! I thought Nancy was supposed to be there for a week or so, but no. This time constraint really affects the game. It was so dark and gloomy the whole game that you could not see Ireland’s beautiful landscape, if they are outside. There was a lot of places to go, but it was completely barren! The castle had to discover only three rooms for you: the great room, library and preschool. And each of these rooms had very little to read, touch or see. It would have been nice if Nancy had her own room (it’s a lock for heaven’s sake, it should be pretty big in there, am I right?), But apparently everyone is sleeping in cots in the great room. Did I mention the great room has a huge hole in the explosion of the years? The grounds and the Screaming Banshee Inn are also pretty dull as well. There is virtually nothing to snoop, to admire not a historical document about the castle, no art, nothing. Extremely dissapointing, I would close this section with two stars, but the graphics are so amazing that she gets extra stars.

-Puzzles/Activities < , br /> The puzzles were excellent! Most of the puzzles were original, challenging and stimulating. This is the highlight of the game. If you liked Crystal Skull’s puzzles you like it here a lot. I really enjoyed the fact that it always do something for you. If you ever needed a break form the puzzle, you can play mini-games, the Inn and go. None of the puzzles were thrown at random, they all made sense. There are tasks, but you do not have to repeat every day, it is (especially because of the game in one night). And the tasks are easy, fun and meaningful in the game. Overall, the puzzles make this game, without them I would not recommend this game.

This Scare Factor is a new section, the terror of the game is concerned. The mood was dark and gloomy, and you would always be here a wailing Erie (of an alleged Banshee). The children’s room in the castle had to be in. It was uncanny, one or two surprising moments, especially since the game’s climax. I think the shock was at a good level, not too scary, but not too mild.
****< Br />
Unfortunatley Ending , the end was abrupt as some previous games, but what was refreshing was that there was no time puzzles or race through mazes. You could take your time at the end, find / question Matt and finish the game peacefully. In fact, the ending had some of the easiest puzzles in the game, which was led by one all you have to do during the game to win. But, as you might be disappointed with Matt gone, I was pretty disappointed. Since the act was not brilliantly detailed or not the resolution was without any facts or issues hang in the air are explained.
*** Total
I’m not going to lie, I did enjoy the game, and I am going to see me play it again and again. But you can not have that “wow” factor that Phantom of Venice to me. It seemed like it does not develop the whole way. Potentially it could be the best game in the series have been developed, if only the plot, characters and setting more. Hardcore Nancy Drew fans will find that something is missing, but there are many good things to buy in this game. I would recommend this for its mystery and its fear-factor (perfect for Halloween night). Nancy’s next adventure is the ransom of seven vessels, which are Bess and George! Sounds promising!
Add all this and division by 7 . .
4 * ’s (interface)
3 *’ s (plot)
3 * ’s (Characters)
3 *’ s (recruitment & Graphics)
5 * ’s (Puzzles / Activities)
4 *’ s (Scare Factor)
3 * ’s (ending) < br /> = 25 stars divided by 7 (Categories) = 3 5 = Rounded to three stars

The puzzles (gearbox, puppets, colorful animal box) in this game can ND be done without the use of cheats. They are demanding, but if you take the time, you can understand them. Younger children may need a little guidance.
I found myself making some mistakes in the bog and drowning a few times, but with perseverance, it finally made it to the other side. Not easy but doable.
There are many interesting places on the site and the ‘Jobs’ You’re not there to explore boring.
The characters are complex, and you have more control over the questions, as in some recent games.
However, some of the things that you must find out (how to get the booster pack work and turn the stone tower) require a fair amount of reading and detective work, which is difficult.
A very important point for parents is that, even though the game is from 10 to , Nancy needed early work as a drink mixer in a pub in the game. Although most fruit drinks and non alcoholic beers, but since they are obviously poured into the cocktail glasses and pitchers, it’s a bar and Nancy is mixing drinks. Children are not idiots. Just as in the last game of the “dance for money” job, herinteractive is definitely a gray area here. If you are an adult and how these games, then no big deal.
All in all it was fun and worth the money. I would recommend this game.

I’ve won all the games of the ND and loved them all. Some more than others, but this is a good one. A bit Spookie then the other, but the end was not what I expected. I think that is a good thing, they keep you guessing. Some of the puzzles were hard to understand what to do, but nothing is impossible. Many places to explore: castle, huge grounds, and a pub. Evidence there is, but handled a bit differently.
Can not wait for the next.

For the first time in about two years ago, I was able to finish one of these games. There is no mystery that here they zillion try 80 times in the hope that maybe you can have a lucky escape and the game continues to demand. No guards sneak past (thank God!), No spraying for bees, and no fox and geese. Best of all, you must not fight off, to run off, or come with some counterintuitive scheme for escaping the bad guys who happen to need one click to view everything in the hope you good luck again.

This game usually beautiful and cerebral. The drum puzzle is annoying, but you can not have everything, not if you want adventure games anyway. You can get a piece of land without arcades, but you can not land without arcade games anywhere.

I have all but 3 of the Nancy Drew games (secretes, Old Clock and White Wolf) won. The Haunting of Castle Malloy is now my new favorite. It used Train to Blue Moon Canyon.
I enjoyed the visuals (eerie night scene of an old Irish castle by the sea next to a garden, a barn and a Moor) is dominated by the new map, you are truly interested in the proprety rather than only to walk and allows clicking on a new target, the lack of tedious housework or repetitive mazes, which is typical for the previous games, the more interesting and brief dialogue with other characters, not bore you do not , the variety of different puzzles, instead of a few large, and the general plot.
Normally I’m ready for a game to end, but that one had so many twists and turns that I actually was sad when it ended.
Castle Malloy is a bit like Curse Blackmoor Manor in tone and manner, but less frustrating because you’re not on the up and down stairs to satiety to go.
