NWN is a fun, exciting story that unfortunately swallowed alive by his own technical limitations. I will not say much to say about the game the same nature as that long time fans of Black Isle games are fun and know the depth built into NWN2, and the story is all expect you from the successor to Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale would, and Neverwinter Nights 1st Unfortunately, the gameplay through the story quickly through the frustration of the fight of the game serious technical deficiencies swallowed.
The user interface and in particular the control of the camera, is horrendous. Every time one of the many tight games, Dungeons swirvy, count on stopping to adjust the camera angle every few minutes how are seemingly on every wall, plant, or boulders hung in radius. You can miss a lot of useless by the game’s more impressive eye-catching as the camera points of anything or grants you an extreme closeup of a patch of dirt on the wall.
Unfortunately, the technical problems with NWN2 do not stop with the UI. Independent reviews at Gamespot confirm what many users requires significantly on Atari and Black Isle support forums are reporting: to achieve a playable frame rate (> 30 FPS) in this game better hardware than the “recommended” by the field.
Users logging on Atari and Black Isle support forums are consistently reporting single-digit frame rates in almost all areas of play. My own impression, based on many hours scouring the forums and on my own experience in the game that if you are the absolute best hardware available on the market, and turn all * * the graphics options to “mid-grade or lower You can expect to see about 25-30 FPS. If the hardware “recommended” from the field have, and turn all the graphics options all the way down (optional disable no eye candy), you can expect 5 to 15 frames per second, followed by a constant 100% utilization of both CPU & GPU (it’s a bad sign when the CPU utilization remains at 100% just looking for the game to the main menu?).
Unfortunately, Atari and Black Isle support their userbase without has a solution to these problems, reported that they did not succeed, one of the performance problems reported to reproduce on their support forums. I personally find it hard to believe that they do not reproduce in a position to which a seemingly ubiquitous series of problems, but either way they have a patch or troubleshooting step that a resolution is provided, which many users are experiencing significant performance issues with NWN2 release.
the many technical problems the game suffers because I can not recommend any but the most hardcore fans, and even then I can not recommend it to anyone, the hardware’s is less than the best the market has to offer.

DISCLAIMER: I have both NWN2 and the expansion pack Mask of the Betrayer, installed at the same time and both of them, so my review reflects the changes that were implemented with the expansion pack, but still in the original campaign.
I’m probably in the minority of players in that I never really liked the original Neverwinter Nights. I loved the concept of a game that you can create your own campaign and online play, but I’ve really been away from the single character with henchmen aspect. NWN2 has fixed this with a more traditional four character party system.
I use it on the following system:
Athlon 64 3000 +, 1 GB RAM (Single Channel), AMD 7600 GS 256MB DDR3 GeoForce. So my system is nice, but not state of the art! I am able to run almost all the highest settings for graphics and action.
Pros:
The game is very, very similar to the earlier based Infinity Games.
The graphics are nicely done, a significant upgrade from NWN
The story line is the inclusion of the (still not done it for about one third of)
There are sufficient flexibility in how you allow the party to control your different types of games.
Cons:
I have optimized the mouse control as best I can, and it is still a little nervous when I try to pan around.
The load times between areas can sometimes be a bit long.
The World (so far ) is not fully developed. For example, in some of the villages that I have ever met, there is only one or two buildings, can enter. While I understand how time-consuming universe may one thing I always liked the Baldur’s Gate and Ultima series was that you almost anywhere you want. If you are a thief, it seriously inhibits your ability to play the role.
Neutral:
are so many talents, skills and other skills, it is hard is to keep track of all and know what to use.
Each of the group members always have the same amount of experience points. This makes it easier for the compensation of the party, of course, but it seems a little odd that when a new member joins, he will at the same level of the other characters. So far the story is very linear. I prefer a more open gameplay (such as Ultima and BG).

For those who love the party based CRPG genre, this is a must, although some of the mistakes of the game. I only have a CRPG since the release of Baldur’s Gate II, I really enjoyed it, and that was a user of Dungeon Siege (Ultima V: Lazarus) found mod. Icewind Dale II does not just hold my interest (the story seemed convoluted, especially as it was linear), Temple of Elemental Evil seemed simply unplayable and NWN lost me with the single-player minions approach.
< br /> In addition, the large community, given the campaign modules for NWN made, there should be plenty of modules comes out, that are not on the same subjects as history of the original campaign.
UPDATE: I have some performance problems when I got to Neverwinter and had to turn the settings for some low frame rates during the struggle to avoid, but it still plays very well.

I want this out of the way – has taken to get to me a very long time, from beginning to finish of Neverwinter Nights 2, and for good reason. If the game in 2006, but it was all delivered unplayable for many people, because performance was simply dreadful. For this reason, I could not get passed the first hour or so of the game, it was just too distracted. But the state of the game now is not the state of the game, as it was at release. Numerous patches and one expansion pack have to pick me up, the game again to try again, and I was pleasantly surprised with the play of improvement.
Character Creation (not rated) < , br /> When you first start the game, you will be taken to the Character Creation screen. There are many, many ways for you to start when you create a character, and I’m not only on what color hair does your character. So much so that it is overwhelming. In fact, I almost get anything in the game at all, because I did not know what to do. It’s not really a tutorial or something to help you help them all out, but the game gives you only digits of information on the right side of the screen detail complicated, esoteric Dungeons and Dragons jargon. I will this issue again later when I talk about gameplay, because it is a problem that permeates the game – to get the best out of the game you really need to work a prerequisite to have knowledge about the nature of D & D . It was not nearly as overwhelming in the original game or Baldur’s Gate or other D & D-based games – the game works with or without your personal experiences with the game systems. So when the game describes dice and stat offsets without explaining what they mean, it alienates the less hardcore consumer who has not the half of her life is spent in a wet basement rolling for initiative. In the end, I chose a set of character customization options, otherwise I would have never got started. I will say, but for those D & D fanatic, the options and classes very deep and varied, not cut expected only for the game, then relaxed, at least initially.

This is one of the greatest strengths of the game. Within the main campaign, you will easily find 50 + hours worth of playing time. The game is set in the Forgotten Realms, specifically the Sword Coast. You play a guy / girl / creature from a small town in the south marsh, with an unknown fate. It is an attack on your city at the beginning of the game, to discover just said destiny and set off on an epic journey to set the city of Neverwinter and beyond. The set-up is very familiar, but the execution is excellent. It is the political intrigue and betrayal, racial tension and other problems that help to feel the world alive and fight alive.
The game employs use of a good-evil alignment system that tries to make the character interaction more interesting, but it has no effect on the story as a whole – you will still end up fighting the same boss, and you will win or lose either or. This brings me to the main problem with the campaign: the linearity. The world is big, but you will discover it in a very linear way. There are side quests, but for the most part, they are only optional to meet targets along the main story, rather than explore other parts of the Sword Coast.
Game-play 10:08 < br /> Game-play is exactly what you expect from a D & D game. The difference between the original and the sequel is that you control a group of four people, instead of just one. You have complete control over your minions, instead of automating the game all their actions. The AI makes control when they want, but you have the possibility of micro-management /> every action and step up.
The game gives you a rather slow, Basic tutorial at the beginning of the game to you fight the way work inspired. It’s kind of his job, but once again, the game does not really give you the way D & D works. To get to either ignore it or else the underlying mechanisms, but it will give you the feeling you do not understand what is really going on, if you do just ignore it. The idea behind a computer version of a D & D game, it is automated for you, but I felt alienated by them kept in the dark, and I often do not know how to play different classes.

Also, it is much easier than melee-oriented class to play as a wizard. Because you always need rest to recharge spells, you will not always your basic spells to use on your enemies. All these issues are often small, however, and the game is an explosion, most of the time. After a few hours you get one, how does everything, and it will start to feel natural feel. Later in the game you gain control of a fortress, to strengthen you and the work on the rent for the soldiers, etc., that really fascinates.
Performance 10:06 < br /> And here we reach the biggest problem with the game. The game just was not programmed so that good performance on most systems. Especially considering the level of graphical detail inherent in the game design, the performance is absolutely terrible. Frame rarely exceeded 15fps for me, and I have a gigabyte of video memory and two gigabytes of memory. The game has a particularly difficult time, which could have led with SLI or multi-core processors, which is out of play long development phase. The patches and updates have made a big difference, but since then huge game-breaking bugs have reared their ugly heads.
By far the biggest mistake one where the game actually deletes Party Members your squad. It would not be a big problem if certain events do not require campaign, you have certain characters in your party have at the time. You see, the game character stores information every time you scenery. When you call, however, a familiar, it is overwritten useful tiefling thief or Dwarf warrior, or what have you, I am familiar with losing, effective, said character. It requires a restart clunky file manipulation or a game to fix that made me almost give up, play the game after 35 hours. There is no excuse for such an enormous error in the game a year and a half after the release still in the code. Also, to avoid said bug, you leave all the creatures every time he rides, a scene that is irritating to have only. I do not really have any criticism here. The speech is of high quality in all areas, the orchestral music is good and suitable, and the sound effects are satisfactory. This is simply the most stable part of the game.
Summary
All questions can really creep up on you while you play, and it is regrettable that so many of them, because it is really a lot of fun, had sustained here for. All this is not really new to PC gamers who are put to use all types of optimizations in order to work games, but a story does not take this out of obsidian from the responsibility for releasing such an unpolished an inconsistent piece of software. That said, once I worked the game has a fixed exchange rate, I had to discover a great time and is a part of his world and the story to tell. The bottom line is that it’s fun, engaging, and deep. Remember the mistakes and problems you may appear before the purchase, but it has my recommendation.

I preordered the Limited Edition of the game and waited impatiently really very months (years) to be just pretty in the game I had expected for his release, so disappointed.
For first I was shocked to see the models in the character creation screen. They had made bad (ugly) and the hair was just atrocious. It looks like hair spray-on or something. Step backwards IMO. The character creation was in order, except for the fact that I do not like not in a position, my character is in the harmonization not see stats on the character screen.
The focus shifts , especially in the beginning of the game, something is out of line at times and I think that in order to Chaotic Good to play effectively, my character has to lie in the fact or too greedy every chance she gets. If I do not care and choose to “nice” an answer I may come legally shifts. The influence can be a real pain, because if you want to interact with a particular character, you have to play their orientation . Period. There is no way around it. I do not play evil or chaotic neutral, so I think there are some quests and NPC interaction, which I will never, never come.
< br /> The main story is not bad, but overall side-quests are sometimes difficult to detect (collection hold for the people) and often only apparently do not fit in anywhere. I had trouble caring in the least about the Most of them never really feel any urgency or compelling reason to begin or end it or not. Most of the time I felt railroaded toward the end goal and I even recognized too late that if I did not do a side-quest ” Right-That-Minute! “then it was lost to me forever. It is so different from NWN 1 or BGII, where you could follow the main quest, but still with quite a lot of side quests whenever you feel like it had. < br />
I have no problem with the game mechanics, like so many others. I run a second 8GZ with a GeForce 6800 GT 256MB. I turned shiny water and some of the shadow effects, but it runs pretty smooth. loading and saving times are too long, but not to the point where it made me stop playing. is
The graphics are, with the exception of the PC character models well, they gods are ugly. NPCs usually look good (except for the hair to some questions as mentioned), but why on earth they could have saved a few decent models for the PC, is beyond me. The camera is bulky and difficult to control times and I always seem very, very far away from them or close enough to see nose hairs. There really is no in-between.
I know like to see the party system and with a five person as a party only two opposite. It’s fun, the characters interact with each other and it brings back my memories of BGII. It is not nearly as good, mind you, but it’s nice to see the attempt made. The NPC interaction with the PC are OK, but not very in depth IMO. I feel no connection to them as in BGII or even KOTOR1 HotU or for that matter.
; I play a bard go right now and I do like the fact that they new rules for bards, it really is a little more useful and fun to play has implemented have. (Of course they are always useful:) I like the idea the craft is taken at a higher level, although I think it’s just awkward for me. I can definitely see, in the enjoyment of it for those who really love their own equipment, potions, etc. Create

I am writing this review half way through the first chapter and more should be correct “first impressions” rather than a full review. The main theme of my experience is that the technical errors far outweigh everything else so far – and I’m on a system that play all the “recommended” Tech Specs fulfilled.
The graphics are beautiful, but they are not worth generations of improvement over Baldur’s Gate (so I do not know what to play, the use of all system requirements.) Second, within the first two days, I was kicked out of the game four times with error messages (never in Baldur’s Gate either happened), plus Let me start with the camera! The stupid thing has a mind of its own!
That would not be so bad if they do not get left behind in the interior. Nothing worse than a corner, watching your life fall in cash if you can not see what fixes to your character Happing like the camera on the wall before the turn.
Hope the Patches coming soon, otherwise what a waste of $ 50.
