  1. After several disappointing “Fun Packs”, the Sims 2 lineup finally has an addition that is worth it! As the name implies, this expansion is all about pets. Your Sims can have dogs (large or small), cats, birds and womrats (basically a guinea pig). There are a lot of fun through interaction with the sims and their pets. Now for the details:

    PROS:
    * Pets! Just enough, it said.
Sims * As with humans, sims PET are presented very well. The movements and behavior are very realistic. Only a people sim game with a cat with a teaser toys and you’ll see what I mean.
    * Creating a pet is as easy as creating a people sim. You can modify its properties, give them different colored Coller, etc. With little effort I could a cat that looks and behaves very much like to create our real life cat.
    * Create-A- PET also has the ability to create a race. Not looking to race you? Make one! There is one exception, noted in the CONS section below if.
    * Werewolves! Do not get too friendly with the wolf that your many visits. . . unless your people is a Sim Sim Knowledge. They all seem to want to be a werewolf for some reason! The marriage broker from selling Nightlife cures for lycanthropy if you are unhappy, however. (Hmm. .. 2 Sims had aliens, zombies university has taken, Vampires Nightlife, Open for Business has robots, and now we have werewolves. Makes Me Wonder what the next season extension …).< br /> ; * Pets can work to supplement a small income to the family as well. Pets service, security and Animals Show Animals are in high demand. Just be prepared to teach them tricks, so they get the funding.
    * Some nice new items, tiles and wallpaper! Most of it is Pet theme nights as expected, but these are actually useful, rather than many things in the “Fun Packs”.
    * New Tools. The “Hammer” tool makes it so much more beautiful renovation! If you make a room bigger, add some new walls outside a current room, then use the hammer tool to get rid of a wall that is blocking the new addition from the old. Much nicer than if you live with all of the previous walls! So, to remove the walls you are assigned a value and then so much is to have your money back, just as the sale of old items to replace with new. Remodeling is not nearly as expensive as they are used either.
    * Leveling tool. Another new tool allows you, with one click, a whole lot to the level of the sidewalk level. you used to pull the cursor over the entire lot (and you had to exclude the boundary squares) to put them on and even then there is no guarantee that it will be even with the sidewalk. This new tool makes it much easier and faster. You can still use the old balancing when variable terrain, although like unlock.
    * Goodies. I can understand that someone wanted everything available at the beginning, but unlockable content adds a small reward for the achievement of certain milestones. This encourages more play (like we really need more incentive to play this game!).
    * Skunk! (It could be a con). Watch out for Stinky Skunk. He (she?) Will visit your much earlier or later. What happens if Stinky Skunk not like your pet? Well. . . let’s just say you prefer a ready man SIM, your pet a bath and quickly give

    CONS: *
Creating a PET / Breed-service program if large, for some reason it is not possible to change a dog on the leg length. For this reason, the creation of a credible Dachshund (sausage dog) or Corgi, is so far not yet. I’m not a big fan Dachshund (no aversion to them either), but I know how Corgis, so that was disappointing.
    * Bugs! For some reason, some people have their sims will disappear. According to another SIM controllable ask them what they want is a way around this, but it’s a pain if you only need one want satisfied, the SIM set in gold status, but you do not know what they want! This is a new error that I have noticed with Sims 2 Pets. Many of the mistakes of previous Sims 2 expansions are still there. EA has to know what is a patch?
    * Would like to see a new “Pet Lover” aspiration in addition to those we already have. It is a Lifetime Aspiration (creates one of the permanent platinum status) for up to 6 pets reach the top of her career chains (I think this is a potentially life-time pursuit of happiness Sims), so the prospect does not ignore entirely. < can work br /> * The care of pets and training. If you are a glutton for punishment, you get a SIM-pair to look after the still at the beginning of her career with a small child, they give a male and female dogs, the dogs have puppies spawn, and then start a home business (provided They have Open for Business Expansion). If you do this and keep everyone happy, my hat to you before! :-)
    * Birds and Womrats work similar to the aquarium, which already exists in the game (even if one can interact with them, in contrast to the fish). If you get busy with other things, they are easy to forget and they die (even if you keep the full food bowl). Birds can be taught to speak and they will be able to fly when it is safely out of the cage (not why I put this paragraph in the CONS section). I do not think the marine aquarium more exciting than the original.

In summary, this is indeed the best expansion pack for The Sims 2 yet. On a scale of 1-5, I would give this a 7 for fun alone. The errors, if not show, stopper led me still to give him an overall rating of 4 stars. I still recommend the game if. The fun is to overcome the frustration of the occasional error. This is simply to keep me busy for the coming season / weather Expansion (I assume every house need a roof for the’m more than cosmetic reasons, if you get that out).

  2. Awesome expansion. I’ve pre-ordered in the mail yesterday (here at Amazon) and played it all afternoon.

This extension provides you not only pets but also a huge selection of new products for your budget. . new furniture, new decorations, etc. It also gives you some new interaction possibilities that were not available before. With this, if your Sim call a friend, now you can invite not only about his friend, your house, but also your friend, the whole household with more than one call! How cool is that?

The pet accessories are pretty cool, too. There are different types of pet beds, toys, etc to offer everything your pet needs, while at the same time not

You can also up neighborhood Pet Shops! I do not know if it Open For Business (which I have) or not, to do that, but I’m already on my first requires pet store.

This expansion is a have fun while waiting for the next (four seasons), coming out early next year, in 2007.

pets definitely get the money worth!

  3. When Maxis came out with the original expansion pack similar to this one with The Sims 1 “Unleashed” I was less enthusiastic, which is funny because I really love animals. I really only bought * the game then, because Maxis, probably sensing

If pets came out, I had a similar reaction. Although I ensure that the integration of adding a whole new way, the game is just hard, it lacks in adding actual gameplay for the user. Unlike Unleashed, there is no enlargement of the neighborhood (mostly because it is unnecessary), there to plant any vegetable gardens, there are no career paths for Sims, and the topic is included, not nearly as beautiful as the French Quarter theme included in Unleashed.

What you get however, is access to a variety of animals – about 24 species of cats, and at least double or triple that of the small and large dogs. It felt like nature was the game for dog lovers, as many of the houses PET / decor etc. directed towards dogs felt thought, but then again, there are more races. When it comes to a pet is, you can create it in the Create-A-Family mode, which give you some customization options such as ear level, fur style, eye color, leg fat and so on, but it’s not nearly as detailed as I had hoped. The other forms include the adoption of pets to visit a pet store (several are included in the game) or a takeover.

There are new jobs in the game, but also for pets. Yes now you can pimp get your beloved cat or dog home a few hundred dollars a day, might in fact a new life for your SIM this aspiration to be very task based. I think there are five new jobs with about four fifty-seven levels and salary increases. With each promotion you must learn to train your pet for a trick – what can be done from your SIM, or the termination of a coach (who is not nearly as cool as the Safari-esque man of UL). With each promotion you unlock a new kind of fur-like star pattern, or green to decorate up your puppy or cat.

For those of you that want kittens or puppies (the are very small) you can change them (and their appearance slightly with the help of a mirror) or breed your pets – and this is harder than it sounds since you have adopted uncontrollable * * Make your pets to each other to build relationships and build your relationship with each pet.

In view of the SIM-PET content, there are a number of interactions, whether you praise or scolding a part of your pet for their behavior (including up to scratch take the furniture or sleeping on the bed in.) can play with them or take them for walks, the animations are really good and the pets are lovable, especially some of the larger dogs. Be warned if you do not control your pets. It will probably also sick of the short series of interactions that actually exist – there are only 2-3 ways to play, and show the love for your pet. Also be warned, you can not your dog to the University if you have a bird or wormrat (ie: buy gerbil).

finally, the question I so far with most expansions Maxis have had is the lack of actual content on the new interactions or neighborhoods. If you were hoping for lots of pet stuff does not. There are only a few toys, several houses GIGANTIC that only a pet can sleep in them at a time, a few pet bowls, bird cage and the cage or wormrat. I have a rather large filling pet store (with the OFB expansion), but it was mainly due to the sheer size of the animal bedding. For decoration, it is a new silghtly Bizarro (as in no connection with animals) theme – “Space”, which includes everything from new bedding, lamps, doors and windows, and a large Schwack of PET on art.

Ultimately, I think most people will buy pets, and probably enjoy it too, but I do not think enough has represented a full expansion. UL actually in the end as one of the best extensions with the original Sims, but pets’ content is limited and repetitive. If you are a diehard for either animals or The Sims, then wait while they get otherwise, until it hits the bargain bins in a paper or two years.

  4. The Sims 2 has now for a while, and I’m looking forward to the PET-extension all the time. It was one of the most fun getting parts of the original expansions for The Sims.

With pets, now create your pets, either with your collection of breeds of dogs and cats, or create you own. The layers you need to do to create your own race can be a little confusing at first, but if you start with a ready-made animals and their experiment a little, you will be there in no time.

about this new addition to the Unleashed expansion for the first Sims, is that you have to train your animals. If you have already played The Sims 2, as you are familiar with the mechanics enough to understand what happened. You can also encourage or discourage your animals to do different things (like playing with other good) you can just as children or adolescents in the game.

The most useful function of this extension is the ability to send their animals into the world to make money for you. You can use a variety of jobs, like your people, and it helps supplement your income, or do not you need to function at all, depending on how well you continue to train your pets.

Graphics: I love the look of the animals. They are more interactive and more detailed than in the Unleashed expansion for The Sims. And there is always the possibility of the games selection by improving your own layers and colors and patterns.

Controls: As always with all of The Sims and Sims 2 expansions in Bugs run. My first was in trying to give my dog a bath. The game has not told me that the tub to a specific area of the rooms in order for the dog to be in a position they had received. So it took a while to get to the things positioned correctly.

Sound: a lot of new sounds for your Sims and their pets have received, especially during exercise. Teach your dog (or cat) to Play Dead. Training has to be by far the most fun.

As with all Sims games, how to interact with your Sims and pets, and progress depends on you. There will always strays in your neighborhood, or friendly animals that stop by to knock on you trash. The Sims go on forever now in generations. There is always something new to do or to discover.

  5. I own all the sims 2 expansion packs so far, and I have all the Sims 1 expansion packs. Overall, I am of the opinion that The Sims 2: Pets was not as exciting as it looked.
You can not control your pets (which is understandable), and there are new interactions between them and your Sims in the compared with the Unleashed expansion. But with that said, there are also interactions that were not in The Sims 2: Pets, but were in Unleashed. For example, your Sims can not tell her dog to attack a neighbor more unpopular. You can not have a dog show, either.

I think it’s great that you get to create your own animal instead of just picking a race. Doing so definitely the best feature of the game. Having pets for your Sims is a great thing, but I think it’s really not that much excitement around it as it looks. It was not live up to the expectation I had set it, but maybe that was my fault. If you had decided between this and Open For Business Open For Business I recommend.

The Sims 2 Pets for younger children, in my opinion. Not as enrichment for adults or older numbers.

    Pros:
    + Wide variety of pets
+ Easy to create / customize Pets
    ; can rename + Pets + Nice
objects that come along with him
+ pets do you keep your Sims social
+ Pets can do many things; wreck your furniture, sleep on the bed , etc.

    + + Wolves interesting tricks

    Cons: No more animal shows

    Number attacking
Limited neighbor interactions, as it seems.
other Sims to interact with your pets and there will also annoying
    animals do not always commands
