  1. We have our hands on an Xbox 360, a PS3, Wii and the race. Everyone is good at specific tasks. Here is a completely unbiased review of how the PS3 will the next generation console unit.

To begin with, the PS3, like the XBox 360, Full High Definition supported. The Wii only supports a lower resolution. Since the Wii has a much lower price, this is a fair compromise for people with a tighter budget. Gamers, for which a very high level of graphic detail is important, must pony for this ability.

Supported in the same direction, the Xbox 360’s HD-Format High-Definition DVDs for movies, while the PS3 supports the Blu-ray format. If you do not have the whole of the following format war for high-definition DVDs, I have several articles on the topic on my gaming site. In short, it’s like the VHS / Beta wars when the VCR first came out. Is one better than the other? Will a format as the winners, as the only survivor? There is no way to tell. It is argued vehemently that one is better than the other. From the perspective of the season, the PS3’s Blu-ray BUILT IN meaning every game can play 50 gigs worth of information to have. Think SOLID huge maps, types of signs, etc. The Xbox 360 uses only “normal” DVDs as a base game holder, which is about 7 gig. This is much smaller. You can buy an add-on HD-DVD player for about $ 100 (around shop – they are there at this price), but the memory is still smaller than Blu-ray – about 30 gig.
    ;
People will argue about graphics until they are blue:) A lot of it comes down to how a specific game company * uses * the ability of the system. Looking at the graphics is a Tetris-like game very much different than just the graphics of Oblivion or Gears of War. I found it amazing on Oblivion 360 graphics. I also found the PS3 graphics quite impressive on Genji’s cut scenes (no enemy crabs in sight). Since the two high-definition, I think that both have the same potential in real life, notions. Both excel in the form of fluid motion, precise detail and realism. I have seen it on both systems to certain games. I’ve also seen junky graphics on both systems. Both are much better than the Wii.

How would it sound? All these factors can plug in your stereo system. My friend and I are both musicians. We have decibel meters and other sound-sensing tools. All three systems can be surprisingly complex sounds music, and in general a “gaming environment”. I also think it comes down to specific game makers, how to use them or not, that the ability to choose. It also depends on how much you spent on the player to your stereo system:)

Speaking of sound, but I have to say that our 360 is quite loud when it runs, to help, despite our many attempts, it will be quieter. The PS3 right out of the box is much quieter. 1 point for the PS3.

At the general operating system for devices, consoles are all three going for more of a “general use entertainment system” presentation. The Xbox has customizable tabs that let you download new games, manage your environment, and so on. The Wii also has channels that let you organize your gaming world. The PS3 has an interface almost exactly that of the PSP, complete with cool drifting smoke waves in the background. You choose which area you want to work – game, music, Internet connection etc., and drop-down function to change what you are interested in

So on the online aspect, which most players are now fully interested in. Where are the XBox 360 makes you buy an external connection for wireless, the PS3 has the built-in on the 60 Gig model. The 20 gig model still requires an external connector (these run about $ 100). All connectors will be in a cable if you are still in use a wired household.

[Cited June 2007] Back at the start, people thought 20 gig was great and that 60 Gig overkill for a gaming system was. After all, the Xbox 360 20 gig had as its upper end. Now, only a few months later, Sony has the 20 gig as “discontinued” too small “. XBox has the Elite model with 120 gig. The difference is that as the players are their focus to convert audio and video storage for storage and HD video to it. The people download and play movies and TV shows are on their consoles. There is something to consider if you will do that to your console.

How does the online world work on the PS3? The Xbox definitely has the advantage here. Until this generation was * only * the XBox a thriving community to live in their world. The Xbox 360 right into the Xbox Live world connected, and they have a huge * community of gamers who actively collect for points, play online games and virtual worlds are. The PS3 and Wii both have to play catch-up at this time. Even if they have better interfaces It is a question of conversion to all those players who have clans, familiarity and highlight collections on the XBox world. Imagine if a new MMORPG came out that right now had fantastic graphics. Sure it can be wonderful – but you will really get all 800 trillion WoW players, their world and characters and friends come to convert, especially if it costs more? It is a hard, slow sell.

My conclusion ? I think in any case, all three have great games and that all three have in value. Of course, I am able, I * can * afford all three, for example, many people are not, as I love the * * Zelda series, and I * love * to the Final Fantasy series. I would be hard to tell one person “you need to Zelda instead of” Final Fantasy “to get. I want the person who have both, because both are great for different reasons. If you really really can save only one of the three consoles, it will not come down to the console is “best” for all players in a kind of global way. It is said the console is best for you entirely on your specific gaming style.

If you are on a really tight budget and are just slightly better than the previous generation, a Wii go. It is cheap, the graphics are better, and the remotes are great fun. It has Zelda:) If you want a bigger budget and really have that high-definition, you are now the choice between the 360 and the PS3. They really look at the specifics of each and think seriously about your style of play to see what games you best. If I make a flip summarization, if you really love online gameplay, I would go with the Xbox 360. His years ahead really give it a robust environment here. If you are looking for more from a home-based-one device for your Media Center MPs3, photos, and huge world gameplay, I would go with the PS3. It definitely has the advantage of big games.

You can contact me via e-mail if you have specific questions, or for screenshots, graphic descriptions or information about an interface of the three systems .

  2. I must say I have never been a Playstation fan. I grew up with and loved their Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros. and Zelda The Franchise. When I heard what was the Sony Playstation 3 and how Blu-ray and HD games I supported only hoped that the system live up to the hype. After I got my hands on one a little before Christmas, I must say that Playstation 3 is an amazing system and was worth the wait. As for the games, there are not many that show the true potential of this amazing system only, although many still play an explosion. I have to say to the Motorstorm demo in (720p) and Gran Turismo HD Demo (1080p) show an amazing amount of detail and some parts of reality and in particular look like a true HD 1080p capable. I connected it to my Sony KDL-46XBR3 46 inch Bravia LCD 1080p HDTV and PlayStation 3 allows me to see what is capable for an HD TV if there great content. Most Blu-ray movies look great (Crank, Invincible, The Devil Wears Prada, Black Hawk Down), but some movies on Blu-ray DVD quality just look on how the federal government and Silent Hill. I guess that depends on the quality of the transfer of the film. The Bluetooth Motion controls are great. I’m really glad Sony released their new Bluetooth Play Station 3 Blu-ray DVD Remote Control (Item # B000M17AVO here on Amazon) because it is the navigation, the blue-ray movies is so much easier than the regular controls. I like the fact that the system has online connectivity and it also has a built-in browser you should just want to surf the Internet. In particular, I like the fact that the 60 gig model with built-in Wi-Fi connection provides so when you are ready, all Internet access, you need only a Wi-Fi router (I use the Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband # WRT54GS Router Buy here on Amazon) and pop in the CD that comes with routers. Follow the simple instructions and bam your PS3 on line Wi-Fi and free from all the extra wires. You can even download your favorite music / videos to the PS3 hard drive and when it appears available online on behalf of the artist and title. You can even a USB keyboard (designed with almost any type of USB device) to surf the Web faster and more pleasant. I must say I am very satisfied with giving the PlayStation 3 a chance, and I recommend it to anyone who know to appreciate a great game with some fantastic entertainment features.

  3. After months of brooding about it, I decided to go over a PS3 with an Xbox 360 or a Nintendo Wii. The reasons that I were as follows:

First, the PS3 is technologically superior and more powerful than either the 360 or the Wii. For this reason, there is nothing that can do 360 or Wii, the PS3 can not do that. And all of the benefits for the 360 (better game lineup and networking) or for the Wii (Roman play) could be overcome looks impressive because of the PS3 with the right amount of time (the PS3 game lineup for next year, should the networking to come and improve the EyeToy for the PS3, the Wii’s advantage count).

Second, the PS3 60 GB gives you more for your dollars (even if it takes 600 of them) than the other systems. It includes a BluRay player, 60 GB hard drive, a memory card reader and WiFi networks. If you are trying to build an Xbox 360 with the same specifications, it would in the end will cost you $ 300 more than the PS3. And the Wii is incapable of such specifications.

Third, the PS3 is outdated reverse compatible with most PS2 games – to avoid my PS2 library of tomorrow.

That said, if I purchased the system, I was a bit concerned about all the criticism that I heard here and elsewhere. I’m afraid a lot of hope for the system due to its specifications, but buying the next NeoGeo. After playing a couple of days, I can say that my expectations were exceeded and my fears have been unfounded

I’ve had the system set up, and played for two days (not always of course) on a Samsung 720p/1080i 50 “plasma screen with an HDMI port. (: There is no need to buy an HDMI cable over $ 20 note. Sony and monsters will try to sell you HDMI cable for just under $ 100 . HDMI is based on a digital signal – either you do it or not. I bought a $ 9 cable from an online retailer and were very well go with him.)

I has played Resistance, Fight Night, the Grand Turismo demo that Genji Motorstorm demo and the demo. I used the WiFi connection to play online.

The system has its advantages and disadvantages – but the pros far the disadvantages.

    Pros:

    – Breathtaking next-gen graphics. The Grand Turismo HD Demo shows the power of the PS3. forget When playing GTHD you almost to say you’re a computer animation – the cars and completely lifelike look length (the audience does not so much). Fight Night shows impressive flesh reconstructions, lighting and details (such as the sweat on been the face of a fighter, skin waves on a knockout punch).

    – Easy wireless networking. There are a few drops – but for the most part, keeps us download and WiFi Gaming as much as we need it. It provides a Web interface and simple access to the PlayStation Store and other PS3 users.

    – Peripheral opportunities. With four USB ports on the front , the possibilities are many – including a PS3 EyeToy and SingStar games.

    – An impressive lineup in 2007 with Tom Clancy’s Vegas, Assassin’s Creed, Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto and a variety of other games coming out, is the future for the PS3 bright.

    – Comprehensive disk space. There is no need to skimp on demos, or downloads.

    – BluRay player opens next-gen DVD to our home theater system.

    – SIXAXIS controller as the possibility of a merger of traditional games with motion-sensitive gaming. < ; is br />
    Cons

    – surfing the Web with the PS3 WiFi connection, an exercise in frustration. I do not plan to surf the Web on the PS3 anyway and this is more of a nuisance than anything else, because the PlayStation Network and save quite smooth run over WiFi.

    – The smooth plastic casing is a fingerprint and dust magnet. (Really not a big deal at all).

Overall, the PS3 a solid system with stunning potential in the hands of the right software developer. He gets only four stars for fun (as opposed to 5 products) because of the limited game lineup (which may not be fair because this is a review of the console and not the lineup – but a console is nothing without its playable games) – but with time this should become a four star five .

  4. First, let me explain my setup. />

I have a Xbox 360 for first 3 months (my venture was away from Sony) and had a PS3 for 2 days.
I consider myself very well versed on the technology, but by no means a scholar as some AVSforums the poster.
The only thing I will not be able to immediately (compare but I’ll add it as soon as I get my hands on one) is the 360 HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray for video playback .

See summary at the end if you do not want a detailed review

    **** ***** index

Both systems are solid next-gen systems, but both have come with their mistakes.
Overall I think the PS3 has more potential, given the undeniable advantage of the built-in Blu-Ray for the games against the standard CD format that is designed 360th Clear, however, that potential has not yet been exhausted. The fit and finish of the 360 is before the PS3 at this point.
Menus for 360 are much cleaner than the PSP as PS3 menu screen.

From a actual physical appearance, they are both a thorn in the side.
Funny, both systems will be as home entertainment hubs, but both deserve to be locked in a closet. Microsoft, why on earth you have a white box? How many people have in their white home theater components? I think I could buy a face plate, but do not feel I should pay extra for something like a cheap piece of plastic look. As for the PS3 I have to admit that I have these flat-lying, but this is by far the ugliest piece of my home entertainment setup. First, the base and the fan is both shorter one is not as deep as the player himself, so she is very ugly boxy look that accentuated only by the cheap silver material (everybody uses today brushed chrome).
    < , br /> But luckily looks are everything. . .

    ****** ****** Gameplay

I begin with a discussion of the games that I have on both systems have played, since that’s why you buy a game console.
games I have for both Madden 07 and NHL 2k7 would be played
games I have played only for PS3 Resistance. < br /> I just games for Xbox Tiger Woods 07, GOW, Splinter Cell DA played,
Dead Rising, Prey, WSOP, and I’m sure I’m missing a few.
and I play in the first place, sports games and game play as real as life as possible. I do not need the over the top hitting or ridiculous goal scoring. I prefer sports games, you experience a real SIM.
Madden 07 – Edge Graphics and Gameplay PS3 / PS3 has slightly better graphics (just more realistic) and a much better game play. Granted, this is something 360 can catchup next year but now a simple thing such as combating the gang was sorely missed in football is PS3 has a great advantage in my book. The player physics are much softer as well, not catching a ball back and forth 5yds which is a huge problem in 360. All menus or the lack of sound and is identical to 360, which is a bit dissapointing.

NHL2K7 – Graphics edge 360 Gameplay large margin PS3 – the graphics on 360 vs PS3 are more detailed and crisp (for example, you can really see the jersey threading on the 360 over the PS3, although you can not complain either the graphics on.
But gameplay is another story. The PS3 version has much more realistic gameplay . You can actually hitting at a realistic level and I actually lose to the CPU on a basis which is regualar big turn. It also exacerbated the struggles of physics, so you are not in the wrong direction half the battle. And yes, the Sabres have their new uniforms (some missed any other console)

for Resistance of Man, I must admit, I’m not a big fan of the 1st Person Shooter, but I thought it was were OK, graphics are not as good as Splinter Cell DA say or Gow and the game do not have that wow factor that I expect, that was certainly GOW. provides

From what I have seen I would give the graphical edge 360 and PS3 gameplay.

    ancillary ***********< *** br />
Where 360 has a huge edge, is what it is outside of games.
Xbox Live is great (you get what you pay for) and very easy to use.
PS3 menus are very mild, but also easy to use, it took just 10 minutes to walk to bring, but the online experience is not just there. I love being able to game demos with the 360 ( Superman looks good download)
A key feature of the 360 who can not get a little pub is the Windows Media Center Extender technology. It is the ability to stream video from my Windows XP Media Center PC to my TV using the 360 is worth the admission money alone. Why is no one talking about this is beyond me.
I can store dozens of movies on my PC and access them easily jump out of my 360th

As for the Blu-Ray player itself I wanted to see Talledega Nights (or at least as much as I could handle it) and I am very disappointed with what probably to 1080p. This was only slightly better than that which can produce my DVD upscaling and not nearly as sharp as regular cable HDTV programs, which is broadcast only in 1080i.
this is given to improve a small sample size and, hopefully, they can only say that will not help to suppress the negative pub. Blu-Ray has received.

***** ********** Summary ****< br /> As the owner of the two you can tell me preface I am satisfied with both systems. What the PS3 lacks in look and feel makes for in brute-technology means. Built in the Blu-Ray possible.
Both systems are clearly the next Gen I feel the PS3 will probably set up better to the system that you can wear for the next 5-7 years (his face it the PS2 had a good run) Just because the built in Blu-Ray.
The 360 fit and finish with the Media Center Extender technology combined to give him an advantage today, not to mention too far superior online experience. Even without the HD-DVD drive for the games I do not think this has almost as long untenable mentioned the lack of HDMI will eventually catch up to them.

If you do not care about Blu-Ray and are the best system, such as right now, go ahead with the 360 you will not be disappointed glance.
If you are looking at this as a long term solution) ie. you do not want to another system to buy in 2-3 years. The PS3 is probably your better bet.

Now someone could kindly design a next-gen system that looks physically Next Gen !!!!!

Hope this review helpful, I tried to be truly unbiased in my review.

  5. Where to start. . . . . The PS3 is a masterpiece of engineering. There are so many reasons to upgrade, why should the PS3 PS2. My main motivation factors were Blu-Ray (High-Definition Video) functionality, Bluetooth wireless controllers (better range and response), internal wireless (first for online gameplay and updates), HDMI 3 output with 1080p output, optical audio and card slots for loading music, pictures and videos on the massive 60GB hardrive. Seems expensive, but in retrospect, its really not, there are a lot of value on the price.
